How to speed up downloads on PS4?

I have 25mb/s connection. On PC download speed is ~3.5MB/s and never drop below 3MB/s (24mb/s). But there is something wrong with my PS4. Download speed is about 1MB/s (up to 8mb/s). It sucks. I was hoped to play Until Dawn today, but this shit downloaded only 7GB over the night (wired connection, wireless is the same, that's weird).

Is there any solution to speed it up? I don't know, specific DNS, proxy or something. I'm using Google DNS.

For PS3 I'm using PSX Downloader but for PS4 it's not working with all games + there are too many random urls (for the forced updates), so it's useless for now.

Have you tried download on rest mode yet? If not, give it a whirl and see if it helps.

Is your PS4 on a wired or wireless connection? What about your PC?

I used to have every thing on wireless but when I moved to my current place, I got really shitty speeds on pretty much every device. After a lot of headaches with different modems and routers, I learned about wi-fi interference. Moved all my consoles and entertainment devices to wired connections and haven't looked back. Yes, it's messy but my speeds are fantastic/steady.

Bingo. Wireless is a convenience and sucks for throughput. To top it off, the PS4 only has a N chipset. Might be better if it was AC, but if you want that throughput, wire it in.

To tell you the difference, my son has our PS4 in his loft. I have a wifi repeater that is not more than 8 feet from the PS4. If the PS4 is wireless it gets <4MB, I just plug it into the repeater and it goes to about 25. <rant> I'd have it wired in directly but I think the dumb@ss electricians fuck -ed up the wiring on the run as it cuts out all the time. When it works wired all the way back, it is over 40MB. I say that because the idiots went through and wired everything as phone connections only using 2 wires and snipping (idiots!!!) the other 2. </rant>

So is your PS4 wired or wireless?

Read the first post before add a reply.

I have repeater, tried both ways - wired and wireless. Max speed was 9.5mb/s. I have wifi N dongle for pc and there is 25mb/s.

Tried B/G/N without any deifferences in speed. Maybe hard drive is worn out? I have PS4 few years and never had a retail game, everything is digital.
