How would your favorite superhero vote? Superman=Repub? Spider-Man=Dem?

CAGiversary!
Taking a break from reality and current events, I figured I'd try something else for fun. How would your favorite superhero / comic book hero (or villian) vote? I'll start with a couple:

Superman. Kansas-boy, brought up by extremely conservative parents. Definitely Republican.

Spider-Man. This is a tough one. Since he grew up just outside NYC, I'd have to believe he'd be a dem.

Punisher. 'Nam vet, gun advocate, "compassionate conservatism". Definitely would've voted for W.

Optimus Prime: Always fighting Megatron who's trying to control the world's resources and all the earth's inhabitants. Sounds like a dem to me.

Yes, but Superman is modeled after Nietzsche's Übermensch (as in "god is dead" Nietzsche), he'd see right through Bush's charade and would pick the man of conscience over the chicken-hawk jesus fanatic.

"So alien are ye in your souls to what is great that to you the Superman would be frightful in his goodness!"
- Nietzsche

The Übermensch doesn't just follow the opinions of parents, society, religion, or Fox News; he is driven by his own will to power.

Lex Luthor is definately Republican. He would totally enjoy those sweet tax breaks, and Lex wouldn't really care about the morality of manipulating the bigotry of the mid-west mouth-breathers to further his own ends.

"Corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed."
- Abraham Lincoln, Nov. 21, 1864 (U.S. President 1861-65)

LOL! - Certainly 60's Batman would be a Log Cabin Republican, but Robin's too young to vote.

Joker - hardcore Libertarian.

Batman - Republican.
Maybe a Log Cabin Republican - if you believe Robin...
Aquaman- Socialist

Spiderman always went against the big businesses. Kingpin? Oscorp? He's a Dem.

Superman = whitey. "I'll use my x-ray vision to eliminate the homogene in little Billy's DNA!" He's a repub.

The X-Men are tough.

Bruce Wayne would be republican, but as Batman I have a feeling he'd vote Democrat.

Imagine Gotham City's voting booth...LOL!

Superheroes help the less fortunate. By definition that disqualifies them from being Bush Republicans.

I'd say that Bruce Wayne is probably a moderate "traditional" Republican fiscally, but a social liberal (regardless of whether you believe the rumors about Robin)

Spiderman is definitely a bleeding heart liberal, unwilling to get ahead for himself despite potentially being able to exploit his powers for immense personal gain.

I really liked Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns-era Superman, who's a tool of the essentially fascist government in the story, versus the older Batman's almost socialist view. It was a weird inversion of the Cold War views, and worked really well.

The Punisher is definitely a Bush-era Republican - all that's important is his view of what's right, and he'll execute that vision regardless of its impact on anyone else. I think people embrace that view because it's trivial to understand, and pretends that the consequences of his actions don't really exist...

For some reason, I'm thinking Robin would vote Nader. I think of him as an idealist who doesn't really grasp what's going on in politics.

Wolverine would vote democrat just because he's always in Canada loving the outdoors (environmentalist). IMO the rest of the X-Men are two-dimensional, thus there's no real personality with them to be able to formulate any political preference.

Duke and the G.I. Joes -- all Republican. You know, fighting 'dem terrarists (Cobra), employing those United Defense tanks and Boeing helicopters/planes.

However the GI Joes are real American heroes, so how could they vote for a faker like Dubya.
Hmm...I really don't know who GL (Green Lantern) would vote as.
Green Party - duh! Along with the Green Arrow and Green Goblin.

Green Goblin and Oscorp (as in Oscorp everything evil for a buck). Definately Repubican.

Aquaman is a monarch. He wouldn't be a socialist.
While I'm not sure of the politics of Atlantis, he either rules based on meritorious service or Divine Right.

I don't know. Snake Eyes may not like people trying to infringe on his civil right to practice mysticism, since he is one of the masters of the Arashikage ninja clan, and it's most likely not going to follow a traditional religion.
