Howard the Duck - Watch For Free

They've got so many more movies to watch for free than that shitty movie. The Karate Kid is on there!

This site is insane. They've got more to offer than $100+ per month cable.

I'm going to have to check hulu out more now. Do they edit the movies or are they unedited as in nudity if their is any or cursing if their is any.

Totally unedited. It's stupendously awesome!:D Annoying as fuck commercials/ads and ad placements though. Still, you can't go wrong with free, especially when you're at college. Fearnet is another good one for the horror movie/film fan. Anyone know of any other similar sites?

Hulu has way more than Netflix, and Hulu's free... I took a trial of Netflix and I'm definitely gonna cancel, very disappointed with the selection

this is one of my favorite movies from when i was a kid and its still entertaining to watch. that said knowing what i know now that chick was going to bang a duck and probably did.........thats some fucked up shit!!!!!

I know Howard the Duck is considered one of the worst movies of all time but I feel like I have seen a lot worse. The movie adaptation of Charlies Angels comes to mind..

maybe because the Netflix streaming feature is supposed to be a "bonus" service... it's not why you sign up for it.

veoh has movies as well as lot of tv shows ( foreign and domestic) only you will need to sign up and download this thingy to be abe to watch movies. anything 30 minutes or less you dont need to sign up to see. thats where i got to see spaced.

Really? I hadn't known that. Does it share a lot of titles with Hulu or is it mostly different?

Bonus according to who? Just because it sucks? You don't have to make excuses for them...

Netflix has been saying for years they expect the market to go all digital distribution... adding digital distribution and doing an inferior job to a free site is pretty sad.

Wish hulu had escape from NY and LA but didn't see them on the list. I would really like to watch them again and don't have them on DVD. Wonder if or when a BD copy of them will be out.

WOW that was a good trip thru memory lane. Special Effects were not that bad for an 80's movie (pre CG era). I am sure if a remake was done, we'd get a more scarier Dark Overlord of the universe.
Amazingly, it's impossible to get this on DVD. For a bomb, it sure is popular with the ebay crowd.
There has been no USA DVD release of the film, but it has been released on DVD in the UK, Germany, Australia, and Brazil. HOWEVER, on March 10th, 2009, the film will finally be released on DVD in America, officially as a "Special Edition", complete with supplemental features assembled by George Lucas, Willard Huyck, and Stan Lee, for $14.98.

I'm not making excuses for them, I was a netflix subscriber before they even had "watch it now" as an option... it's not why they set the business up.. I'm sure over time they will add more things to watch, they already have in the last 6 months, but it's not the reason to get the service...

If you are looking for it to be, you are looking at the wrong place...

Yeah, I know. The same with Song of the South and one other Disney title that I can't remember. This film is actually a childhood favorite. I still have a VHS copy of it that I (grandparents/parents) recorded from HBO. I know it's bad, I knew even then, but what can I say, I just love the film!

You sir have just made my day!!! I will definitely be getting it. Still, I also just remmebered I want to pick up the Dark City re-release before it goes OOP since it seems hard to find even now and since I want to hear the Ebert commentary.
Wow Koggit, you really are a whiny little fuck, aren't you?
Now if I had said that same thing Shrike would be up my ass before the page even refreshed while 3 other mods giggled in the background.

I wonder if this will make its way to Bluray. I'm going to have to pick up a copy of the DVD when it comes out.
why would Dark City go OOP a year after it came out?
because it's the re-release of the film after years of fans waiting and requesting for it. That's usually what happens, especially to something that didn't have a substantial print run and didn't sell huge numbers. It's tough to come by around here.

sad but true.

Now see I was going to say the same thing, but it all depends on how the studio is handling the release. Did they do a bang up job remastering it for the release or is it going to be shitty quality with mono sound? If that's the case, then SD-DVD for me. If the digital bits and other sites get an early review copy of the BR and give it a thumbs up, hell yea I am buying the BR!

Well, now I know why DVD's are so ahrd to find. I always liked it. Sure, it was raining and the theater had to stop showing it for 5 or 10 minutes, but ti was still good. Well, until those alin demon thnigies plotline. Amazing how people love this type of thing as a Disney cartoon, but try it as a live action and nobody likes it.

That's because when these things are live action everyone realizes how patently stupid and absurd they are. There's a much larger suspension of disbelief for cartoons. Also, Howard the Duck is pretty out there as far as concepts go, even in comic book form.

When the Howard The Duck comic strip came to our paper, my dad (who loved his comics) dutifully read it every day.

And every day, he would lower the paper after reading that strip, and look over at me, and in that friendly, soothing voice he always used with me, he would say:

"Is this SHIT supposed to be FUNNY, or WHAT??? It's the FUNNIES, for cripes sake, they're supposed to be FUNNY! WHAT IS THIS SHIT????"

I have loved Howard The Duck ever since.
