...so says a guy regarding my Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow auction : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...MESO:IT&viewitem=&item=110132685998&rd=1&rd=1

The Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow that I purchased had the shrink-wrap packaging and he knows "100% that it is resealed."

When I told that I purchased it at ToysRUs and not Gamestop, he sends this:
i have been in the presence of my friend at target as he returned a game that he opened, played & finished then shrink wrapped himself to return to get some clothes. the store employees are idiots, they don't know anything about the original seal of a game nor should they care, they get paid minimum wage. you probably just live in an area were resealing by cunsummers is regular. im always informed & cautious when buying from any store or person because i need to know more than them for my safety & if i don't know more than them, i will learn something from them for sure. i'm sorry but your game is resealed, go ask konami about it (not nintendo, they don't care).

Unbelievable.

Screw him then what a tard just re-post it im sure there are other people out there who want that game...

i don't know man, my still sealed original release DoS has the fold over seal. Got it from Gamecrazy. I know TRU does have a shrinkwrap machine thing and that they reseal stuff if they get returns or if the factory wrap is damaged, my friend who worked there used to do it all the time. (This was several years ago, so maybe that's not the case now, but it was when she worked there)
Well you do label it as "factory sealed" and it is clearly not.
Shrink wrapped is pretty much as factory sealed as it comes nowdays.. unless you talking about that sturdier lol plastic like off cigarette packs ??
Well you do label it as "factory sealed" and it is clearly not.
Uh, there ARE games that do come shrink-wrapped from the factory. Not all games use the fold-over.

Indeed... I know Castlevania PoR came in both seals. I got it with the shrink wrapp twice (the first time was at launch) but saw it with the y-fold.

I'm fully aware of this but to avoid confusion when I'm selling on eBay if the plastic has the folded edges I call it "factory sealed" but if it's just shrinkwrapped I just call it "sealed" - it's semantics I know but people are freaking insane and unpredictible so I try being as clear as possible.

OP I have the same Castlevnania from TRU. I sold mine on Ebay and got 31 for it. The bidder never paid yet but I hope I dont run into what your running into. Here is my Auction OP. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...MESO:IT&viewitem=&item=230134496507&rd=1&rd=1

I stated that it was Sealed. But I persoannly don't see a difference of the wording Factory Sealed and Just Sealed. To us Factory Sealed sealed means it was never opened and reshrink wrapped. I also put in my Description that I got it from TRU since I knew someone might cause a stink about the Wrap on it.

Just let him know that although 99.9% of Nintendo 1st party games have the factory sealed wrap, many 3rd party games from Konami and Capcom have the cheap looking shrinkwrap. This was the case with my Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and both Phoenix Wright games. All 4 were purchased in different stores like BB, CC, TRU, and GS so it is universal (though I have seen POR's with the folded wrap at Walmart).

No sense arguing with him since he truly believes it is resealed. Just politely ask him to go to any major store like Best Buy and he will see that the majority of games from Konami and Capcom have shrinkwrapped games.

I recently ran into the same problem when I sold a copy of the greatest hits version. He said it was clearly rewrapped and so I had to tell him where I got it and that I assumed it wasn't as superior a wrap as he thought it would be, because it's a reprint. Then he went from threatening to friendly just like that. It was the closest I've come to getting a negative feedback in quite some time. That sort of ebay nonsense annoys me.

Yeah, with the DoS reprints, when they could be had for $5 at Best Buy, I found both "folded" and "shrink-wrapped" copies. These were all "factory-sealed" as they just came out of boxes onto the shelves.

Also, my preordered Portrait of Ruin (from Gamecrazy) came with the cheapo shrink-wrap. I still haven't opened it ;). I have several other DS and Gamecube games that are the same way. The only suspicious ones I have seen are some PS2 games I got from Target that aren't normally sold without the folded wrap. I returned one of those once because I was convinced it was a re-seal job. Another I opened (because I just wanted to trade it in anyway) and it was intact and seemed brand new.

What sucks for you, OP, is that there *are* folded-wrapped copies of DoS (even the Konami's Hits version - I have one here) so, since it isn't universal, it's going to be tough convincing this guy. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing .

QFT.

Many of the 3rd party games have a different shrinkwrap style. Since the packaging isn't regulated, shrinkwrap styles may vary with different companies. Making it very hard to distingush a factory sealed from a resealed one. I know that most Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow have cheap shrinkwrap on it. I bought one Bestbuy and Circuit City, both shrinkwraping styles are the same.

Most people don't even know the difference between factory sealed games. Many people believe that a factory sealed snes or gba game must have a "h sealed" or "vertical line" in order to be factory sealed. This is entirly false. Super Nintendo games that were made in Mexico have a horrizontal strip. Some gba games don't have h sealed, namely the games that have boxes hold cart by the side rather then tranditional white holder, games such as TMNT, Phantasy Star Advance, Lego Stars, Sonic Advance 3 and many others. The same goes for "Y sealed" Playstation games. Not all of them are the same, it all depends on the company.

Since there is no standard in shrinkwraping styles, people must research first before making false accussations
you did say in the auction on how it was sealed. its not your fault that he did not read the whole auction
I didn't even notice that. OP, you got your bases covered man. You even added the information about how it was shrinkwrapped and not folded 3 days before the auction ended. I saw fuck him.

I left the note on how it was sealed because of his "concern" for me trying to rip people off.

It was just funny how he described how his "friend" reseals games and returns them to Target because its employees are "idiots". It is because of people like his "friend" are partly to blame on Target further restricting their return policy.

i saw 2 different sealed games for Portrait of Ruin. same goes for Lost in Blue 2. I have the badly sealed ones not the Y-folded kind.
