I received a tv from Newegg exactly a week ago. Everything works fine, and i love it, except one thing.

IT KEEPS CLICKING AND POPPING 2-8 TIMES EVERY 20 SECONDS!!!!!:bomb:

AAHHHHHHHH

So annoyed. What can i do? Is this normal? Some people with viewsonic tv's say that it goes away after a couple of months, but it's getthing SO ANNOYING!!! It clicks even though it's power is disconnected. I think it's static or something.

ERRRR. Im going to kill the guy that started viewsonic. Their support is NO HELP.

They are all BITCHES!!!!
Anyway, Can anyone help me? What should i do? Anyone ever heard of this problem before? Kinda sounds like water dropping, or the sound that happens when you touch a doorknob(or something else metal) in the winter.

maybe its just static?

did you try using a anti static cleaner [ usually used on monitors ] on the screen?

Heh, I bought a refurbished Olevia TV from newegg and it has a clicking sound too. It's quite loud when nothing else is going on in my room, but I got used to it and I now like the clicking sound. It's like an ambient sound that helps me fall asleep now.

yeah, it's getting really annoying. I don't get how it still clicks when its not connected to power, though. The sound comes from the back...
Return it. You shouldn't have to get used to a malfunctioning product.
newegg doesn't accept returns on LCD products. They only take exchanges, so i guess that'll have to do. Everyone that has the tv doesn't note anything about these sounds...

Anyway, the fan problem doesn't explain how it clicks when theres no power connected.

sometimes its thermal expansion, and that is a loud crack like noise. but it its happening all the time, thats not it. you will hear what i am talking about maybe after a few hours of use.

I have the same problem with an old standard TV. Picture jumps sometimes do. I believe mine at least has something to do with a loose wire.

Its a LCD .. it should have a *Static* Problem... No idea why it would be clicking unless it has some bad connection and clicks when something is expanding/shrinking.... Defently something wrong with it :)

Interesting...I have a Sharp TV that I bought brand new (37 inch 1080i). I heard the 'clicking/popping' sound for about the first 6 months, and then one day it was just gone.
I'm not sure how it disappeared, but I'm going to look through my buying receipts to give you a link. I bought it brand new from amazon, and I know at least one other reviewer said he also heard the 'clicking/popping' sound. It annoyed me, but there was nothing else wrong with the TV (beautiful picture and all).

So, if it's any consolation, it should disappear eventually.

there is nothing wrong with my tv either, except that sound. I don't know if i should spend 24 bucks on shipping to get an exchange, or just leave it because it could evantually stop.

I just read about one guys tv making a popping sound and then the all of a sudden the screen cracked on the lower side... and then the breaker switched off.

There should be no sounds out of a lcd... Switch it!

I've got the same problem with my 32".
...
everyone seems to have the problem and says it goes away, but everyone else that never heard of it says it's a defect... It seems that my computer speakers(2.1) affect the clicking sounds. They don't cause them, but they certainly make them worse.
