Some of you might know that i started making ads/posters for some upcomming games comming out for fun. Well one of them is actually being used by an EBgames store. A huge Thanks to StarBoyk for setting everything up and for taking the pictures for me!
Didn't Konami change their logo over a year ago?
They probably have changed it but thats the only higher quality konami logo i could find. I can only work with what i have.

otm, im not sure if you have been formally trained or not, but i cant encourage you enough to head to art school, graphic design seems to be in your blood.

again, bravo on your work.
Hehe, glad you like the photos, and sorry my camera sucks so much. That's some awesome work, man!
Thanks brother, i'm still working on concepts for the other ones they wanted, it will be awesome to see those in store too. The pictures turned out fine bro, my favorite it the one sitting next to the sp display.
good job, now whats your favorite nintendo character?
Haha he wears green and thats all i'm saying.
You the man! I wonder what the Nintendo rep will say (hopefully "wow that's cool!")
Yeah it would be very awesome if the nintendo rep liked it. Starboyk told me the day it was put up it was very well recieved by customers and actually sold some pre-sells from it.
Did you get paid cash money, or did you do this strictly for the experience and thrill of working "in the industry," so to speak?
I did it for free, its a awesome thing to put in my portfolio and a cool thing to throw on my resume. It's a very cool thing seeing something i made sitting in a store, that alone is worth it.

Awesome job. Good thing it's not a Nintendo franchise or the cease and desist letter would already be in the mail. Amazing work.

Yeah, great job. I think punq is right. Graphic design seems to be your calling. This is a sweet design, and the Killer 7 poster you posted in a separate thread is really cool too!

ok im gonna take a guess here
the background eyes came from vampire the masqurade
and the dude with the jacket is John Travolta's sillotte from Saturday night Fever
am I right? Do i win a cookie?
Nicework

haha yes the vampire part is correct but i still had to do a lot of work to it.
The silhouette is actually the character from castlevania aria of sorrow which this game is a sequal to. I just took a screen shot from the game and made a silhouette the best i could from it.

What kind of cookie you want?

You know its cool and all but I would be contacting EB and finding out where they got it from? Seriously.

Maybe you could get a hold of someone at corporate and maybe start feeding them designs.

That would look better on your resume than just one.

i've been to art school and while i think it's good work, it could never be used commercially. the use of "vampire" art in a konami ad is begging for a lawsuit from activision. i'm also not certain that you could collect royalty checks or anything for compiling pre-existing konami art into a single piece. i can't clip out 4 different frames of garfield and put them to together to say i wrote the comic.

i used pictures from an OOP medical book when doing a piece for a band at a major venue near DC and my advisor told me that it is still copyright infringment. i had to take the ideas and redraw them all by hand. talk about a pain.

to the creator of the piece, i think it's excellent box art, however from a business standpoint, i don't think it could be used. but that's cool. it's art, it was for fun, it was for free. i totally know where you are coming from. good job.

its not a box art (even though it is being used as such) it was made to be an ad.

Wow! That's awesome OTM! I knew you could go somewhere with that. Now maybe you could use this as bait for Nintendo to look at your ACDS ad. Maybe you could sell them on the idea. Your ACDS ad is one of the coolest ads I have seen (and the Castlevania one ain't too shabby, either.;) ).

hehe, i do this all the time for my store, the nintendo rep was confused but seemed to think it was cool. the sony rep thinks anything done that pertains to sony games is awesome. BUT, my printed out box art and quick cut and paste work looks nothing like this~ very good job! ps. since it's non-profit art that works to promote the game, and I'm guessing it's only going to be up until konami/nintendo sends them official stuff, thinking your going to be sued over it seems over the top imo. ^_^

looks awesome though, and i love the v:tm backdrop (lol, i wonder if anyone else catches that in the store?). if you really want to make a habit out of it, i'd suggest adding the DS logo and printing it out DS-box-sized. ;)

Nice work OTM. I'm too lazy to find your Animal Crossing DS one, so how about you post that in here, for all to see. ;)

Sweet! i like that one even more, lol, simple and anyone who knows the game gets it, actually looks like something nintendo would put out :D

Nice work dude! You should work out some deal with the store to get some kind of discount or first dibs on penny guides or something :)

OTM, is that up for display anywhere in our area, or is it at a EB not in our neck of the woods?

If it's in the St. Louis area, I'd look to take a close look at it and see it in person.

Was that on purpose, or a typo? Either way, it was pretty funny.

After i posted the castlevania ad, Starboyk had sent me a PM asking if i'd like to have some of my work in his friend's ebgames store. His friend took a look at the the animal crossing and castlevania posters and was really excited about it, so i sent them over and the rest is history
thanks bro... the castlevania one was more of a poster to promote the game, this one i made as an ad.
heh, you called me bro...

really looks nice though, not sure if you've ever thought about going into visual communications or digital art or anything, but you seem to have a knack for it, so keep at it!

P.S. Want it displayed at a GS too?

Wow, congrats on getting your work shown. As an amatuer artist myself, it's always exciting to see your own artwork being displayed somewhere.

So those displays aren't always official? Couldn't the store get in trouble if they're using unofficial artwork?
great job OTM, I told you that was the moneyshot!
I know you wanted me to resize it for you, and i promise i'll get to it... ive just been super busy and unable to put the time into it.
