I don't think I understand the marketplace

I've heard great things about the marketplace, so I figured I'd populate my wish list and trade list. But I'm confused.

Under my matches, I see the cheapest CAG marketplace price for a game I want is $17.25. Sweet. So I click the price. It takes me to the user's page. I see the game, but I don't see the option to buy it for $17.25. In fact, I don't see the option to buy it at all. I can only ignore, trade, or make offer.

So I try another game. Cheapest price is $6. Click the price, go to the user's page, get the option to buy for $8. (?)

As for trading, is there any way to browse users who want what you have, or can you only browse users who have what you want? Let's say I click a game I want that someone has available for trade. Then I have to scroll down to see if they want anything I have. Over and over again, until I eventually find a match. Isn't the point of the marketplace to automatically match you up, or am I trying to use it wrong?

Any guidance would be great, thanks!

Except for those of us who only wanna SELL and not trade.:booty: I still get far too many PM's like this "I see you have (insert popular game name), I have (insert $4 cheapo game name here). Wanna trade?".

I understand people wanna get the most gaming experience for their buck, but if you're gonna offer me Beowulf for Uncharted or Uncharted 2, I'm not gonna respond probably.

Yeah, I'm just tired of using the forums to trade, so I was hoping for something better.

Offering Beowulf for UC2 is one thing, but I actually put time and thought into every trade offer I make. I make sure whatever I'm offering is on the person's want list, and I cross-reference Amazon and eBay prices to ensure both games are of equal value. And STILL at least 95% of the time, the person says no without even saying why or suggesting a counter-offer. It's really frustrating.

That's the other issue I have with random offers for games on my TL. I typically was getting 3-5 offers a month for stuff not even on my want list(only one game on there now anyway;)). As for the counter offers, I've attempted those before but some folks just want MSRP value for their six month old games and that would require me trading 2-3 of my games for one by their logic.

Better is coming!

I enjoy the trade forum, most of the time I will look at the marketlplace and then just send a pm to the person that I am interested in trading with instead of the marketplace. Btw, I def. understand the aggrivation of shoddy trade offers people get from time to time. I think it is just people seeing if they can pull a fast one on you, but most of the time I have reasonable offers.
