look at any balance sheet and you'll see that the biggest driver in profit margin right now is low labour cost, mainly due to layoffs.
Yet iPads still sell like a motherer so whatever right?

Meh, I'm no fan of Apple in the least bit and am loathe to defend them in any way, so here it is:

I don't think that 40% profit margin is accurate because it doesn't include design, assembly equipment design, distribution, and most of all, marketing. That said, they could still bring manufacturing back to the US and still make a profit at the same msrp, which is the real crime here. So here's a big you to everything Apple.

I guess I didn't really defend them after all...lolz.

And don't get me wrong. I was just expressing my disappointment in the article. The reporter jumped right to "lower the price" without mentioning the (basically) slave labor that Apple is subcontracting.

Unless it's expicitly an editorial, the reporter should do his ing job.

I completely agree with you. I kinda half-assed that post anyways...heh.

Like you said, the reporter wrote a shitty article based on those two things that he could've added, which are somewhat related.

edit: oh, and slave labor is a real crime too.
