Someone decided they were going to trade in some gamecube games for resident evil 4 today.. among those were a great condition Resident Evil 2 and 3 for gamecube. I took advantage of this and after my employee discount, I am now the proud owner of RE2 and 3, and I do plan on playing them.. what a deal! I feel sorry for anyone paying hundreds on ebay..

Good deal! I need to find RE2, got lucky and grabbed RE3 off ebgames.com the other day and unlike most of the rare stuff I order there, this one has actually shipped!
Whats the big deal with these? I still have the PSX versions and they look the same to me.
Nothing is the big deal about them people are just stupid. He's just happy that in all the stupidity he was able to snag them for a good price, eventhough they were used.

Get a Psx port. I don't get it. ...wait...do you have a cube? :D

That's because they direct ports of the PSX versions. They are not beefed up like the remake of RE and the new RE Zero titles. If you have the PSX versions, you have these games already. Both of these ports are rare because nobody bought them when it was announced they are just ports. If I didn't already have the PSX versions, I would have bought them at launch myself. They are both now considered collector's items due to their rarity, not originality. Remember when Skies of Arcadia Legends was going for a fortune. Then came the re-release and boom, $19.99. There is always a possibilty that these ports will be re-released, and if they are, will most likely be at a budget price like SOA Legends.

Oh. So, I can stick with my PSX copies? Cool.
Actually, they're ports of the DC ports... their double port status makes them all-powerful super saiyaports.
I was going to disagree with you regarding the graphics on the GC ports. I always thought graphically these games were identical to the PSX games. But after investigating the screenshot graphics on the Capcom website, it looks like you are correct, all the gameplay screenshots are in high resolution.

It seems ironic that Capcom could have sold RE 2&3 for much more than the MSRP of $19.99 for the DC versions, when these games were much newer. Selling the GC versions for $39.99 just didn't make any sense, in the wake of the graphically impresive prequels. To add insult to injury Capcom originally stated these GC ports would sell for $19.99, before changing their mind.

I was excited to get these because I sold off my ps2 and psOne, and dreamcast, and don't plan on buying either one again. I really wanted to play RE2 again and I never played RE3 much, beyond a rental.
