So I travel to a Circuit City about 30 minutes away at around 4 pm... a friend wanted to see what they have. We get there, the bin is a mess, but inside the bin my friend finds Conker.
He asks me "Is this part of the sale?" and I told him of course not, it just came out, some kid must have thrown it in there. He then replies "Why is there six of them in here, along with all these other games?" I ask him to get an employee to scan it... employee comes back, says it's 49.99, like I thought.
I then mention to him how there were about six of them in the bin, so I was just making sure it wasn't a mistake. The employee looks at me and says "If it's in the bin, it's 9.99 then". I'm completely FLOORED at this comment, and being the honest CAG that I am, I even tell him "This game just came out around two weeks ago and you had a promotion on it... there is no way it's clearance".
He then looks at me dead in the eye, and says in a very know it all voice "Sir, if it's in the bin, it is 9.99, that is the end of it, the cashier will take care of the rest". Almost like I was stupid for not knowing that it was 9.99 for being in the bin.
I take it to the cashier, games ring up 49.99. I mention how they are in the 9.99 bin, and how the employee (whose name I'll leave out of this) told me how they are 9.99. The cashier just says "oh, ok" and adjusts the price for each one.
I ask her if I can get more games, and she says "sure, go ahead, I don't care, as long as it's in the bin". The bin held multiple copies of -
Conker: Live and Reloaded
Unreal Championship 2
NBA Street Vol 3
Mercenaries
I let the other people searching in the bin know what the employee AND cashier had said too - me and a few other lucky shoppers managed to get some top titles for 9.99 each.
The surprising thing is that I was honest the whole time with the employee - he practically forced it on me that all titles in the bin were 9.99, and I was stupid for thinking otherwise.
