I need cell phone-switching help!

I must admit I don't know much about cell phones, so I need some help.

I got a new phone from Cingular that I'm not really digging right now. My dad doesn't need his old Razr phone, so he said I could have it; he had Verizon. Is there a way I could switch my service over to his old phone?

My phone is an LG cu400, and his is a Motorola Razr V3m.

Nope. Verizon phones are cdma and doesn't use sim cards. That's what I hate about the mobile phone business, you buy the phone and service through that one company and will be stuck with them for two years unless you feel like paying a 200 dollar ETF.
