Any places have cheap printer ink? Preferabbly 1st party, but I'm up to generic if someone has good testimonials.

I have HP PSC 1210 and I'm in need of black ink.

I also have an R300, but it's on the way....so I don't need ink yet, but will soon. I'll use this for photos and printing on DVD's. So, not sure if I need GOOD ink for this or generic.

Thanks!

you can always go to cartridge world and get your ink refilled. its cheaper than buying new cartridges, you just reuse the one you have and they put more ink it in, clean the head or whatever its called, stuff like that. i suggest going there.

Since HP carts have the print head on them, even generics are expensive. As far as the Epson, you can buy a refurbished R200 at epsonstore.com for $77 shipped, and it comes with all 6 ink carts. Pretty sad when you can buy a printer with ink for the proce of just the ink.

Well, I found some on EBAY for 12 EPSON R300 carts for $40. Not sure of the quality though....especially for photos.

After looking, even remanufactured HP carts are about the same price. I don't really want to refill either.

Buy some at Sams club or you can create your own deal at staples. Wait until they offer something like free paper with 2 ink purchase and combine it with one of their coupons like this week they are running a 12% off customer appreciation week coupon. A few weeks ago they had $15 off $75 purchase.

Yeah, I know CostCo sell 2 packs for a decent price....I may just do that since I need black ink for the HP now. As for my EPSON R300, I'll see how long the ink last when it shows up this week.
For your generic ink needs I reccomend this site.

www.printpal.com

These should be compatible with your printer

http://www.printpal.com/printer/hp_psc_1210.html

and here are some testimonals

http://www.printpal.com/testimonials.html

I order from them a couple of times and quality
of the ink was just as good as the original. Plus
they offer free U.S. shipping by usps.
I was going to order from Printpal until I read the reviews:

Generic ink doesn't void the warranty on your printer. That is a myth based on the misunderstanding of the warranty terms. Only if the ink is the cause of the problem will your warranty be void, but even then there is little chance that they will find out what kind of ink you were using.

I would suggest inkgrabber.com especially since they are in the process of releasing new, better inks.

If you want oem try databazaar.com

So, how many of you use generic ink for photo printing? I love my R300 now....but I hear some generic ink does not dry well, and some causes photos to look like poop.

There are a lot of myths out there about generic ink - mainly propogated by the printer companies who don't want you to buy them. The reality is that there are some bad inks and some good inks. You just need to find the good ones. Yes generic inks may cause you some slight problems like minor bleeding, color mismatch, etc, but in the end most problems are minor, hardly noticeable and not as bad as people make it out to be. Also the paper you use is just as important as the ink as certain paper will give you an exact match in color, no bleeding, etc, where other papers will not.

Here is a good site with info on generic ink, and a pic showing how similar generic inks are to oem.

Thanks for the link.....honestly, the Canon and MIS inks look a lot better than ink grabber inks...IMO

Especially noticeable on the image of the woman.

Inkgrabber is supposed to be coming out with new inks that are a lot better. For the price though, inkgrabber is great - $3 a cart for me

What kind of printer do you have? Just curious? I take it you have no issues with their ink (with photos too?)

Thanks for the help though

I just wanted to say that inkgrabber.com switched to their new ink already and they are nearly identical to oem, and at $3 a cart they are the best 3rd party ink that I know of.

I use ink from megatoners.com and monsterinkjets.com in my printers without any problems.

The ink from both places works well in an Epson c800, Canon i470D, and Canon S200. As soon as I print enough on my new Canon R500 I'll have that ink tested too.

My uncle just got the Pixma ip3000 so I'll know how the ink works on them in about a month or two.

I needed a black and color cartridge for my inkjet just a few days ago and was shocked at the prices -$60 for the pair. I ended up buying a Lexmark combination printer/scanner/copier @ Target on clearance for $50 instead (which included both full cartridges). It's crazy when buying a new printer is cheaper than replacing the ink cartridges. This scam is almost as bad as the razor industry, where the cartridges are more expensive than the razors.

Buying a new printer instead of ink isn't a good choice since lots of new printers come with "demo" carts that aren't completely full.

Only HP and Lexmark do that. Canon and Epson come with full ones.
