I need some good places for student discounts.

I stumbled upon this just yesterday. I'd never seen, or heard of this before. It's a "Student Advantage" card. Here's some of the discounts you get with the card.

There's a fee involved, but I haven't had much of a chance to look at it. I was at the beginnings of planning a trip, trying to figure out whether to travel by Amtrak or Greyhound and they both asked about this card. Something to look into... No guarantees from me though.
 
for software and pc stuff -
a good place is Provantage - you have to set up got purchase as a student but you get a good discount on just about any tech related item,

"academic" purchases, most companies now sell you regular versions just at cheap.

Too good to pass up those deals even for got to make purchases staff, faculty..
you'll also find a few software companies also sell direct
an example was a copy of Chief Architect 8 for less than $300.oo great deal my office got to make detailed drawings for some publications we produced
