I think my DS Lite is screwing with me

So I start up Castlevania Portrait of Ruin, and while drawing my little symbol, I notice that the calibration is off by a few pixels. So later on I quit the game, and go into calibration (I can't remember, but it's possible I've never used the feature on this DS.) I hit the little red box 3 times as it moves to the center and 2 corners... again and again and again. I seem to remember that after 3 times or so, calibration finishes and it lets you check on it by having boxes that get bigger as you're touching them. This never happens. It just gives me the same 3 boxes over and over. None of the buttons do anything, except B which cancels. What's wrong?

I know that with Palm OS based devices the toutch screen calibration utility ignores "Bullshit" coordinates. for instance, if the X is in the top let hand corner of the screen, it estimates where the point should be, and if you toutch the center of the screen, it knows that that can't be where it's asking....

all I can say is to try to tap on the X as accurately as possible, also, another option is o see if there is a reset option that allows all those settings to return to default, so you may run the calibration again. if that fails as well, take the battery packl out and leave it disconnected for a while (and hit the power swith too) and that may help.

Sorry i couldn't do more for ya

My DS Lite seems to have a slight calibration problem. I can get past the point you're on to get to the "verification" screen (the one with four boxes in the corners) but it sometimes takes a few tries. Then, no matter what, the top-right corner is off.

I just got the shipping label from Nintendo to send my DS in for repairs. When it gets back I'll post about what they did (if anything) to fix it.

I just found the tech support article on my issue yesterday. Metalfan is right, the calibration wouldn't end because it thought I was way off on some coordinates. I could get through calibration by intentionally missing some of the targets. Obviously, this isn't right.

The article goes on to say that if there's something stuck in the side of the screen, it will interfere with it's operation. So I cleaned it out with a toothbrush but since there wasn't anything in there in the first place, it didn't really help. I will call up Nintendo when I'm done with Castlevania and see what they can do for me - thank god they have a long warranty!
