I thought the new X-Play was good

It reminded me of their inane E3 coverage. There seems to be much more emphasis on news and previews. I don't need X-Play for that. The previews and hands-on segments are annoying b/c they're basically a forum for the developers to push their games. I'd rather have reviews - even the fairly crappy ones that X-Play does - b/c they provide some critical commentary and aren't just PR plugs.

Also, does the inclusion of Cheat segments mean that that show has been canceled? That would suck. I'm not a huge fan of Cheat but at least it's a show that showed game-play footage for a half hour rather than half-naked rednecks or ninja wannabes.
 
Ban them from using that smegma they call humor in most of their shows, and that alone would be a HUGE improvement.

Agreed.
Unfortunately I think the new format will mean more pointless skits. Oh well, I'm glad I have Tivo and a working thumb on my remote hand (i.e. the hand I use to hold the remote, not the hand I keep in the other room).

Cheat was the single most pointless show in the history of television. Its existance doesn't make any sense as long as GameFAQs is around. The only redeemable feature of that show was when the host would wear a tiny skirt and sexy shoes, then at least you could get a nice look at her legs and feet.
 
G4 got desperate for views... COPS? Bill Bellamy? Star Trak? (well, I sort of see why this would be an appropriate show)


X-Play was decent IMO. Adam's wittiness was better a few years back
 
I used to love Judgement Day... that show with Tommy Talerico. Why couldn't they cancel X-Play instead?

Adam was the one that Cheapy made the comment about doing lines off of guys cocks, right?

Rofl, ya, that's the guy.

I used to love Judgement Day. They at last had different opinions on games and would debate things whereas X-Play is just someone reading someone elses review with pretty pictures flashing in the background. I wish g4 would buy reviews on the run episodes (Judgement day in canada) as they're still making new episodes.

So is the new xplay strictly news? The best thing to come from that show was Johnny Xtreme
 
This format will not last with Morgan and Adam. They both suck when it comes to actually giving non-taped comments. Also I think both of them got "D's" when it came to the interview segment at their respective universities. I somewhat like the format, but there still needs to be a show solely focused on reviews and first looks. I think G4 should have just started a new IP and left the old X-play alone.
