If you care about history you may find this interesting, especially considering their strength at the time and acceptance in many areas. I did, but I'm also very interested in buffalo's history too, so that's also why I found this interesting. It's a list of kkk leaders and members (even lists occupations, including clergymen) that the mayor of buffalo posted in 1924 outside his office. It's not nearly complete, but the intro and everything is there. It also has a very suitable quote for modern day america on it "patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel"- Thomas Jefferson.
Because hating the KKK would solve all the world's problems.
It would have helped, this happened in 1924, they weren't exactly harmless then.

No it simply would have produced more hate, if you really care about moral equallity hating the KKK is just about as productive as hating anyother group of people.

Well I disagree with that. Also, I didn't post this figuring I'd get much response, but figured people who have an interest in history may be interested. To see something like this done in a major city (and it was one of the countries largest at the time), in 1924, is noteworthy, even if it wasn't in anything remotely resembling a klan stronghold.

Oh mainly it was a pitty responce, I feel bad when something even this unnoteworthy doesn't get a single responce before it drops.

Someone's crabby tonight

Actually, I think it's an interesting document from a historical standpoint. However, I will agree with zion, that adding hate to the pile doesn't help. Silent, emotionally detached extermination, now that's the ticket ;)

You wouldn't even know what you're talking about. You're just implied everyone is the same.

No I said if you care about moral equality, I however don't.:D
No I said if you care about moral equality, I however don't.:D
What is moral equality in your definition? So you're saying you treat everyone the same? You treat your mom, sister, girlfriend all the same? You must be kinky.

You're really trying pretty hard aren't you? Next time you really ought to read the post before you respond.:applause:
Well, this devolved quickly
Well I wasn't given much of a topic to work with.

Hey everybody! Like a hundred years ago some people pissed on the KKK, you know those people in South Park who scared all the rich people out of town by dressing up like ghosts.;)
You're really trying pretty hard aren't you? Next time you really ought to read the post before you respond.:applause:
So do you treat your mom, sister, and girlfriend all the same?
So do you treat your mom, sister, and girlfriend all the same?
Did I ever say I believe in moral equality or equality? You really need to find something else to do.
So do you treat your mom, sister, and girlfriend all the same?
Hey beguile, you're attempt at cleverness fell flat on its face once already, don't beat a stillborn horse.

I don't know, I think watching him beat a stillborn horse might be pretty fun, or at least more entertaining than this.

Isn't it amazing that 'zo will look back 80 years to condemn an organization that today doesn't have any real or imagined power but will today look the other way on Islamofasicist terrorism that kills people around the world daily saying it's just a fringe element of an otherwise peaceful religion?

Amazing which group of "haters" he choses to address and which he choses to ignore. As much as I try I cannot wrap my mind around the reasoning of the left but I still try. Yet, I have no trouble predicting their reactions to events.

See now had you just ended that one paragraph sooner it would have been an excellent commentary.
Don't worry PAD, it's an old list, your name isn't on it.
Yeah, they take Catholic educated people all the time....

Ya know, there wasn't really any modern political message behind my posting this (besides that one comment about the jefferson quote). It was an interesting historical document in my mind, I figured some people are interested in history and things such as this, this is a politics board after all. It's an interesting and unique piece of history in my mind, I don't see the issue here.

Clearly you aren't american enough to be posting things like this.
Oh I think you know what I mean.
I'm not american and I shouldn't be posting this? I don't know enough about america if I think this is interesting? That's the 2 things I get out of that.

Well according to scrubking you're an anti-american, why would an anti-american care so much about US history?;)

Mearly it's amusing that you of all people would have such interest and passion on this topic.

I find that you're very amusing. Why wouldn't an american care so much about US history? He's not the only one with such interest and passion on this topic. I find this topic to be very interesting.
Hey PAD, I still have you on ignore so I can't see your posts.

Btw, will you morons stop quoting this moron in your posts?
Do you even know what "ignore" means?

Dave Atell said it best

"You know the KKK are still having meeting's. What could that be like, Hi everyone we still hate everyone right? Okay see you next week.

Islamic terrorists are a fringe element, just like the KKK is a fringe element of Protestant Christianity. Just because they speak for you doesn't mean they speak for every Christian. And it doesn't matter how much power they do or don't have, they're still a bunch of pricks.

Logic? In the vs forum? :bomb:
Logic? In the vs forum? :bomb:
Sure, if it includes a subtle-as-a-brick-to-the-head barb, like "just because they (the Klan) speak for you."

Speaking hypothetically, of course.
