Import gaming on Saturn?

007

CAGiversary!
Short of cracking it open and modding or chipping it, how does one play import games on the Saturn?

I've seen something called a 'Game Adaptor', which would seem to do it, but is it just that, or would anything that's GameShark-like would work?

Thanks!

Yep, GameShark, etc...

Though, the best option IMHO is the Action Replay 4M Plus. You get your region busting PLUS you don't have to swap the cart to use games that require the 1MB or 4MB expansions.

eraser trick... need some awesome timing though. Put in CD, swap out, etc... Just chip it... or solder the two leads to change the system... I actually have a US saturn modded to a JPN one. Extremely easy to do.. my first mod.

Thanks, guys. I figured that the GS would work, but wanted to double check. I'll keep the 4M in mind, but it's a little more than I want to spend right now.

So, again, thanks!

Be sure to bag "Dragon Force 2" and "Grandia".
I just bought a Japanese Saturn on eBay for $60. Problem solved.
Well if he didn't want to spend $30-40 to buy an action replay plus, I am guessing he doesn't want to spend $60 on a Japanese Saturn.

I know you said the Action Replay is a bit rich at $30, but honestly, it's the best import gaming adapter EVER to hit the Video Game Market (Retail wise, I don't count the Utopia Boot Disc for the Dreamcast, since it was free). For all the disc swapping, cart swapping and not to mention the wear and tear those methods put on your system, it's worth it.

I personally have a first-run Saturn that I soldered and put a switch on the side of, but I've had to replace the drive in it, as the first died from all the swapping back when the ST Key (action replay without memory) was all the rage.
