Is anyone importing a Dual Shock 3?

Just curious, is anyone going to the trouble of importing a DS 3?

Are you that desperate to get one or will you wait?

I'm going to Fukuoka for the weekend and will be first in line when they're in the stores on Sunday!
 
Luckly I have some family in Japan so I am going to have them send me a white one as soon as they get to their local store. I was going to grab it online but the price seemed a bit harsh.

I am still wondering why a ship date has not even been announced for the US.. Why do we get no lovin?
 
nope. What's the price in Yen? And the price of the sixaxis?

I can live without rumble until spring. I may go to the Hustler store and just buy a vibrator to tape to my wrists until then.
 
I may import one, rumble isn't that important, but I want the white controller and I just got a feeling we're not going to be getting the white ones here.
 
I have a friend who just moved from Japan a few months ago. I probably would've tried that, but unless prices drop into the $50-$55 range I'm going to try to hold out a bit for the domestic ones...
 
MSRP is 5500 yen. I got that from google. Google also tells me that 5500 Yen is $48 USD or $45 CAD. Japan always gets bettter MSRP's than us, but still $70 is gouging.
 
I had one on pre-order from play-asia.com, but I canceled it the other day. I decided I just don't need to spend that kind of money on a controller right now, especially with the games about to come out that I'm planning on picking up.
 
I would love to have rumble, but $70 is steep. I've never imported anything, but what sites are good for imports.
 
Play-asia.com, wolfgames.com and NCSX.com are all great for import stuff. I don't think wolfgames is getting in any of the PS3 rumble controllers though.
 
I really want one/need one. I only have one controller and I have been waiting...WAITING... for the rumble controllers so I could just get those instead.

NCS has basically said that their suppliers either want to gouge them on controllers or force them to buy an equal amount of PS3's, which they don't need, to get the DS3. So it doesn't look like they'll stock them immediately.
 
I was going to import once the supply gets a little better and if prices went down, but seeing as I'm between jobs I'm going to wait until it comes out here.

I want to get one, but it far too expensive to ship it here [for me]. Guess I'll just have to wait till we get our release.

Okay, forgive my ignorance, but does a Japanese DS3 work on an American PS3? Yeah, I know it's stupid, but now that people finally have it in America, it's good to know the truth.

And how does it feel compared to the DS2 and regular Sixaxis? That's important too. I honestly think I want the white one.

I can't see why it wouldn't. There's no region standards for controllers.

I'm not in America, I'm in South Korea. That's how I managed to go to Japan for the weekend. It feels heavier than Sixaxis, though I've only used that once.

Mmmmmm partly. Not just for that.

I went to do some Christmas shopping also, and I wanted to get away for the weekend. This was a perfect excuse to do it.

Going to Japan on the ferry from Pusan to Fukuoka is actually quite cheap.

And $80 is the online import price, I paid $55.

the white does look pretty slick to me. I've had classic gray, black, and one clear DS1 controller for too long. I need a change of colors lol
 
yeah the white is hiddeous, it should've had clear buttons instead of leftover black/grey one's from the normal SIXAXIS controllers
