Is it just me or have Amazon's trade in prices dropped a bunch?

They used to be pretty good but the don't seem very good anymore...?

It used to be good for a flip every now and then.

Yes. And they have sucked in basically every way other than customer service and shipping time when it comes to video game deals over the past year. $10 says they'll still win the cheapy award for best retailer though. Ass ton of amazon fanboys on this site.

For PCDD maybe but yeah, I bought mostly from Newegg and Best Buy last year for console games.

It makes me wonder if they switched to a new trade-in partner that is offering less or something?

Because you used to be able to get decent-good TIV for stuff back before Noram moved their Delaware trade-in facility to Kentucky. Now, you're lucky if you get 1/3 of what they're selling for. It's even worse for rare OOP media, unless you want $3.25 for your game/dvd that is selling $200 for the cheapest used copy.

The reason I mentioned that they might've switched trade-in partners is due to a trade-in I did a couple months ago(when they completely switch over to the KY facility). It used to be when it went to DE, the shipping label would say it's going to "Noram Intnl Partners" and the items would be sold under their ExpressMedia/SourceMedia seller accounts. Since then, the shipping label just says "AFS" and I noticed the stuff I traded in was sold under a seller account called "Apex_Media".

Agreed Amazon isn't near what they were, but again those great prices were just to get you hooked. Like a crack dealer. They offered years of great prices, even taking a loss here and there, and now that people think Amazon for everything without looking around at other store prices. Amazon starts raising prices (in the case of trade ins lower) on stuff to the point it's no longer even a deal. Same crap Walmart does. Once they got the brand following many just think everything in the store is a bargain and pay whatever (why do you think even those crappy flash deals sell out so fast now a days). It's called marketing. You didn't think all those great deals were gifts now did you? The trick is get on the next bus (bestbuy) for deals until they pull the rug out from us and raise prices again.

Their trade in values have sucked big bags of dicks the last 6 months. They are actually lower than GameStop a lot of the time now, which is absolutely pathetic.

They're probably trying to recover from a few months ago when they had $30 TIVs for several hundred different worthless games (TIVs that actually held for a few days). I know I wasn't the only one on CAG that got $700+ worth of credit.

When they first introduced the service the prices were actually pretty decent - sometimes even really great. Now they are horrendous and I wouldn't give them any game. Same with the DVDs and Blu-Rays though their prices on trade comic books aren't always so bad. Also, may be obvious but if you ever decide to trade in anything there and you see an unusually bigger price than normal that's a red flag to you to cease the deal and sell it yourself. Chances are whatever that item is it's highly valued so they're "digging in" to their pockets a bit more to get you to sell it to them so they can resell it x100.

Yeah they used to compete with the sell it yourself price. Now I see them offering $5 for a game going online for $30 and they don't have a warehouse version available. I just sell the games myself now! Much easier than I expected & no waiting for certificates to deposit
