Has anyone played Super Robot War W yet ?
Super Robot War W for DS has just been released, but I haven't seen anyone talking about it.
I know it's Japanese (and it isn't likely that the game will be translated into English like OG1 and OG2), but this game is awesome!!!!
If you've played OG or OG2 and liked it, I think you can find a lot to like in this game. Animation, sound, graphic are better and on top of that, gameplay is faster: now there is almost no lag when it changes from a map to an encounter scene (compared to Super Robot War J (SRW:J) which takes 1-1.30 sec in scene transition) and reset is almost instant (this help us start a new game faster when something's getting wrong).
Graphic is also better, especially if you compare it to OG1 and OG2, but if you compare it to SRW:J, it may be difficult to find the improvement, since many character's sprites were taken directly from SRW:J, but I don't think it's a downside since sprites in J are good already.
Only one bad thing in graphic department is that there is no more bouncing boobs
.
Sound is a bit better; there is no big improvement here because there is no voice-over. Music quality is a little better (maybe it's due to a higher bit-rate compression). Thinking about the cartridge's capacity, I think it's possible to include some voice-over.
Control is great too, you can control the game by using both touch-pad and classic buttons. I like using buttons in battle field, but when it comes to upgrade and buy-sell item, I prefer a stylus.
Has anyone played it yet and what do you think about this one ?
P.s. Even though the game is in Japanese and it's almost impossible to be ported into English, I think this one is still worth every bit of your money if you consider importing it (provided you're familiar with the game's system and are a fan of Super Robot).
For me, this one is a gem.
For a screenshot, I think it's no point in taking the screenshot since you can find many nice shots of this game everywhere, and the quality is a lot higher, compared to the shot from my camera.
