So I finally decided I wanted to invest into nimh rechargables instead of using regular batteries , standard rechargables and proprietary rechargables. So I was browsing them on amazon and while I saw the 4 pack w/charger and 8 pack without here:
http://www.amazon.com/Sanyo-Eneloop-Pre-Charged-Rechargable-Batteries/dp/B000IV0REA/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1273559446&sr=1-20
I also saw this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002NSX60I/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A2WTVCOLVN15GP

and that other one seemed like a really good deal. Is there any strings attached that I'm not seeing , or if there is a better deal somewhere else or on something similar?

I ordered that second bundle (AKA the Costco pack) and think it's a good deal. The spacers are nice to have. Note that the charger that comes with this will only charge PAIRS of batteries, which can be harsh on batteries if you charge a pair where one is more charged than the other.

If you get this pack, I suggest you get a better charger to go with it.

I would recommend getting this charger as well:

http://www.amazon.com/Crosse-Techno...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1273591583&sr=8-1

Note do not get the 9000 or 9001 packs as they are prone to overheating and melting, and the extra batteries and other that come with it isn't worth the extra $$, just stick with the eneloops and get the charger above. I have ordered this charger but it hasn't arrived yet or else I would post my opinion of it. The overheating problem was supposedly fixed in the 9000 model but IMO its too much to risk fire in your house.

I also bought #2 at Costco (1+ years ago) and these are the best ...
$32 is about what I paid ($26.99 plus tax)

I ordered a BC-9009 a few weeks ago because it was back in stock at Amazon and wasn't much more than the BC-700. Either one will do the job, yes.
