Is this Dawn of the Dead version rare or hard to find?
I recommend the ultimate edition dvd set of the original. 4 discs, 3 cuts of the movie, and a bunch of bonus material. I bought it as a blind buy for 35 and was not disapointed.
Totally. I just picked this up from DDD a couple months ago for $30 and it's probably the best dvd release I've ever seen of any film. Director, theatrical and european cuts of the film. Shitloads of extras. Even a mini Dead comic comes with it! Truly the definitive release of the film. Highly recommended.

Now I gotta get that Microwave Massacre dvd!

Since we're on the subject already about Dawn of the Dead original (spoilers!):

When they are clearing out the apartment building and the idiots break down the boards and let out all those zombies, how come it seemed Roger and Peter weren't worried about what seemed to be the whole building being overrun? Let alone how'd they get out given they were in the basement and had to go upstairs where the newly freed zombies were running around?

Never got that scene.

Let me ask you guys, how different at the other three cuts of the film compared to the original film? I'm already pushing it with my DVD purchase, and since I don't have a CC and/or debit card, I always have to ask my parents right now to borrow theirs, and my dad gets irked when I tell him I'm buying a DVD, nevertheless a DVD in the $22+ range, even if it's an Ultimate Edition. My mom said she'd get me a debit card sometime soon, but for now, this is the only resource I have.

That's why I might just have to stick with the $7.99 one, but...

Looks like I'll just get the Ultimate Edition. I'll order it with some other things, so my dad won't know the price, haha.

I'd like to thank everyone who posted in this thread for their discussion and opinions.

Probably because the SWAT team had already taken the building. If you didn't notice,... there were officers all over, even bumping into each other, when they found the zombie stash in the basement.
No need to worry,... they were just being badasses.
Remember how cool they played it, when they met over a smoke.
Badasses!!!

I thought there were two zombie stashes. The one in the basement that Roger and Peter find and the one the group of riot cops finds and gets overwhelmed by.

hmm oh well.
