Japanese PS3 in China?

My friend has a Japanese PS3 and will be moving to China in a few weeks. Does anyone know if he'll need to buy a voltage converter to get it to work while he's there?

I know that the JPN PS3 will work in the US, but I did a search of the forums and didn't see any topics that addressed whether it will work in China.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
