Joaquin Phoenix is awesome

As a HUGE fan of Andy Kaufman, I have to say that I love what Joaquin is doing...

I just wish the media would shut their trap about it being an act.

Oh, yeah. I forgot that Andy Kaufman announced that he was going to retire from acting and pursue a career in hip-hop.

Good times.

Doesn't matter if it wasn't the exact same scenario. This whole Joaquin Phoenix shit was played out before it even started. Hoax or not the guy should give it up. He's embarrassing himself.

The media is so cowardly, they all want to be in on the joke (it's the cool place to be - just ask the shills in this thread) so he's still gettting white glove treatment. I'm just wondering how long before everyone starts treating him like Andy Dick.
The problem is, if its an act...its been done before......which makes it extra lame.
What makes it lame is that he has a ton of trouble staying in character.

If you want to see this done right, look at Andy Kaufman or Crispin Glover. Those were guys that could stay in character and throw people off 100% of the time.

Crispin Glover, forgot about him. I remember that karate kick on Letterman. Why is it all these guys do shit on talk shows? So people that only have TVs with and antenna can witness the madness?

Whatever. Joaquin's best work was behind him loooong ago:
