ok, i just bought a Mini ipod form wal mart for my girlfriends b-day... whats the quality overall on this product? should i have gone with another mp3 player? give me names of other mp3 players you think are better than the ipod mini.

well, i still got one day before her b-day and i still got the receipt and all. im worried about the battery and the ability to transfer songs to it.

I prefer the zen micro...my opinion is apple overprices their stuff. Still, the Ipod Mini is realiable and great (other than the battery and maybe price). Why would she hate the Ipod Mini? I thought it was a safe bet when you don't know what kind of MP3 to give to someone.

If it's the second generation iPod mini, I don't think she'd have that much of a battery problem unless she plans on not charging it at all. It's very reliable and my iPod is one of the few things that I take everywhere with me. Also, they're definitely the mose girl-pleasing MP3 playback device that I know of.

I love my iPod. No regrets at all. It is easy as hell to transfer songs to and from the iPod and I have copied several of my friend's libraries...

ipod minis are pretty nifty, yeah it's a good choice but theres a lot better ones for cheaper prices and more space. A lot of people dislike the pod just because it's more of a status symbol than an mp3 player with most people, I don't really get caught up in that drama, a player is a player, but there are cheaper alternatives that has just about everything the pod has. I owned the Mini, and I loved that little thing no compliants with it, did what I wanted, but did brake on me after about a year (one to many bumps I guess). As of now I have Dell DJ 20 Gig (2nd Gen), love it (20gigs for 199.99, with Creative Zen Firmware, can't go wrong). So, in short, yes it's a good buy. If she avid music listener, she will adore it.
