Just finished playing through Bioshock 2- I am a little confused by the ending though? Maybe someone can help clear it up for me

I got the good ending- but what exactly happens on the raft at the end? Is Delta mortally wounded by the events leading up to the escape such that he dies in all circumstances? Or does Eleanor kill him to get his ADAM? Because that's what it seemed like to me?

You're still alive and looking at her in the face when she stabs you with her needle thing. Then you die as she sucks the ADAM from you?

The neutral or bad endings which I watched on Youtube make sense- in the bad ending she deliberately kills you to get the ADAM, in the neutral ending you die (at least it seems that way) of your wounds (probably the explosives in the hallway). But what is the purpose of her killing you in the good ending? Putting you out of suffering or something?

BTW is the search function on CAG screwed up or something? I looked for all threads containing "Bioshock" in the title name, in the 360 forum, and from "any date and newer" and it did not come up with either the Bioshock 1 or Bioshock 2 official threads? WTF? Do threads eventually get so old you can no longer find them through searching? I had the same trouble with Dragon Age: Origins a little while ago as well.

As I understood it, when she takes your Adam, she sort of takes your spirit with her. Your body was too badly injured to survive, so she is, in a sense, taking you with her so that you can always be with her.

Makes sense, thanks.

But
how does it make that ending different than the "bad" ending then? Other than Eleanor's intent I guess. Maybe that's the key, you were never going to survive but your actions in the game dictate what Eleanor does after she escapes.

Adam transfers memories. In the first game there is an audio diary that talks about it, and you also see it happen yourself in the first game. Anytime you would see a "ghost" in the game, it was someones memory that spliced with the recycled adam you are using that randomly gets triggered.

In bioshock 2, you are dead at the beginning of the game. Elenor is able to bring you back to life by re-configuring the vita chamber to match/use your DNA. And by using recycled adam that is why you kept a lot of your memories.

In the good ending you are too hurt to survive. As you die she extracts the adam from you, and for a nice Hollywood ending you now exist in her as her conscious - as you taught her to be a kind person, help people and all that jazz.

Each decision you make involving harvesting / who you kill or spare contributes to the ending. in the completely bad ending, she steals the adam from you after drowning her mother. You thus become her consious, but in a more evil intent.

You die in the end no matter what, but Elenor is the important character, and what happens to her. Even if you had survived, if you ever were too far from her, you would lapse into a coma and die.

Dude, spoiler alert please...

Spoiler alert? It's a 2 year old game and the thread title specifically says "Ending Question." What the hell is anyone expecting clicking in here if they haven't played the game?
