Kerry concedes, Bush wins

It's surprising because we don't have a firm number on how many provisional ballots are left to be counted. There's still a chance. It's a slim chance but I've seen longer shots come through.

Bush should have won more decidedly because California's votes shouldn't count. We should have never let them join the union.

Now Kerry can stop lying to everyone and go back to being the radical liberal that he has always been on the senate instead of pretending to be centrist.

There will never be another democrat president once California breaks off and sinks into the ocean.

Nah Bush was even nice to CA and has em covered with the anti-ballistic missile defense system :)

I posted this in another thread... but roughly 175,000 provisional ballots are out there. In every election roughly 20% of those ballots are legit. Even if 100% are legit, Kerry would have to win over 80% of them. Its not a long shot, its a near impossiblity.. its got the same chance as monkeys jumping out of my ass, sprouting wings and defecating on the white house causing a major panic assuming a terrorist attack leading to World War 3.

I thought it was 20% were not legit. If your numbers/percentages are right, then I guess it's not so surprising.
I am amazed all the rabid leftist on the boards haven't commented on how Bush stole this election as well.
They are still trying to get over the fact that they are losers. Wait a few days and I'm sure it will come up.

In Ohio in 2000, 90% of provisional ballots were accepted as legitimate. Those ballots will still be counted. If by some miracle Kerry would come out on top, Kerry would be declared president (it doesn't matter that he conceded). The Kerry camp obviously feels that outcome is so unlikely that they want to look good and concede now and then wait to see the final results.

Well, the secretary of state of ohio in charge of counting the provisional ballots stated there was about 135,000 provisional ballots in the most recent count. Kerry needed 130,000+ votes to win. Kerry would need 95-100% of the ballots to be valid and 95-100% of them to be in his favor. Statistically insurmountable.

Kerry made the right decision in conceding, and if he didn't the results would have been the same anyway.

Exactly. I'm sorta surprised -- though also glad -- that Bush won as decisively as he did.

Kerry won't lose his Senate seat until 2008. John Edwards has already retired after one term, he was sure to face certain defeat in North Carolina re-election.

This ticket is going to be swept away quietly into the past like Dukakis/Bentsen.

Agreed. Next election should be more interesting, since people will hopefully be voting for the man they want more, rather than just for or against Bush.
