Well I really loved it. Anyone else listen to it yet? It's definitely a "love it or hate it" deal, in fact the band seems to have gone out of their way to make SURE a large percentage of their fanbase hates it. It definitely bears the least resemblance to the first album (by far) out of anything else they've done since then. Some of these songs sound like they came straight out of a musical. And there's lots of keyboards and stuff!

Some of my favorites after the first playthough are "Starting Over" (bridge has a strange QOTSA feeling to it), "Do What They Say" (really gothed-out song with a chorus that reminds me of Type O Negative's "Haunted"), "Ever Be" (awesome track with a sweet freakout at the end), and "Love and Luxury" (kind of a bouncy goth-pop feel... lol the old schoolers will absolutely LOATHE this one, and that kinda makes me smile).

So... heard it? loved it? hated it?

i was a huge Korn fan back in the day, up to Take A Look in the Mirror. everything since then has been laughable. I stopped listening to them after that album came out though. Going back through their collection recently, most of the stuff seems childish and lame. Though to be honest i still enjoy listening to some songs on th Self-titled and Life is Peachy, but anything else i can barely stand anymore. They've lost their "touch" whatever it was and it's just not good anymore. I listened to the new album though....pretty bad.

the album was on their myspace if you want to check it out...

I have it... and it's completely forgettable. I know it's cliche but I agree with AshesofWake - everything since Take A Look In The Mirror hasn't been so great... I think the problem is that they release an album a year - it's just too much. They don't seem to have the ability to write complex/varied music so it all ends up sounding the same. I bet if you pulled the 3 best songs off of their last 4 CDs you'd have something pretty good.

I dig Korn. ALOT. Wont see them live sine Jonathan fakes it on stage.

As far as CD's go. I agree with the others. On the one album before this one, it had a couple of good songs but everything else was meh. This album, heard it, and the whole thing is MEH.

I meant to buy it but keept forgetting to get it. I may have to listen to it before I buy...I have all their albums and they have been lacking quality in some songs but they are still great, and they put an awesome performance live. Saw them at Projekt Revolution 2 years ago and at a local radio station concert a few years back and they've always been great.

Korn used to be one of my favorite bands, but now I can't listen to anything beyond Issues. I liked Untouchables when it first came out but it hasn't aged well, and Take A Look In The Mirror was the last straw.

I did see them live in 2003 though, and they put on a great performance.

Same here, I made it to Follow The Leader before I stopped being a hardcore fan, then I bought the next three albums after that and just got frustrated at how bad the albums were overall and bailed on the band. The main problem for me was Davis pulled a James Hetfield move, where you've got a guy who is good because he can't sing, takes lessons or whatever to improve the vocals, and sucks after he learns how to sing.

Yes, the evolution of the songs are pretty juvenile. Old stuff was pretty raw, but the new stuff is just different music but the same lyrics pissing and moaning about how high school sucked and being bullied sucked and it sucks to be famous and it sucks to be filthy stinking rich. What I got tired of the most was the outdated "smack talk" phrases.

The first album is still a classic though.
