Perhaps you comic book folks can help me out with a kryptonite question I never understood. Wasnt kryptonite material from the planet krypton? And wasnt Superman from krypton? If yes to the previous two questions, then wouldnt Superman have been on the verge of death at all times before he came to Earth?

I think basically kryptonite made Superman "normal". He had superpowers on earth because kryptonite wasn't around. If he'd go back to Krypton he'd be normal.

I don't know much about superman though.

Apparently there's like 40+ minutes of unused footage from that trailer.

If they made a box set with fleshed out versions of this and Machete, I would be all over it.

I'm not an expert, but I think that green kryptonite was a rare crystal on Krypton (similar to how lethal anthrax occurs naturally on earth, but is relativelly rare)

I like how red krptonite affects the Smallville Superman - I wish there were more plotlines along this vein.
