L shoulder button not working on my Ds lite

I've heard that cleaning the cracks with a little dry brush might help; dirt can get trapped in there pretty easily and make it harder to press.

aside from Dry Brush, try squirting some Goo Gone or rubbing alcohol into any areas that you can. It won't damage it, but just to be on the safe side: don't turn on the DS until you know it's completely dry (1/2 hour should do the trick).

Logitech wireless PS2 controllers always do this to me, so I open them up and condition them with Goo Gone, then they work great for at least another year, unfortunately opening up the DS isn't quite the same...

If I press it really hard, it works. But I mean really hard - I have to keep pushing my thumb into the underside and dig into the button before it works.

I've tried using a brush, but that didnt work. I'll try using the rubbing alchohol next

if I must, I will open it up. But I would really, really like if another cag who has done so to tell me about it - I dont want to fuck my DS up

I know the perfect trick. I know it sounds dumb, but it worked flawlessly for me. If it's just a bit of dirt, which it sounds like it it is, it'll come out.

Basically you get a q-tip. Wet that q-tip with water and rub that q-tip near the r button. Then blow near that r button area, so hopefully dirt will escape. Finally dry the ds off with a tissue or something.

Repeat until it works.

If it doesn't work the first time, it might work the second, or third, or fourth. It took me about 3 times before it worked.

Thanks! I did exactly that, and it worked the first time round.

Thanks again!
