Lady and the Tramp Blu-Ray Deal

halloweenman666

CAGiversary!
Quick question for everyone. Could the 5 dollar trade up for a disney DVD in the current BestBuy ad and the 8 dollar Disney Rewards coupons be combined since one is a BestBuy coupon and one is a manufacturers coupon? That would bring the price to about $11.99. (If the 8 dollar coupon works on the 2-disc as some have said it does) First time poster, so go easy on me if I did anything wrong, haha.

TRU has a MUCH better deal.

They heave the 3-Disc Set for $24.99 (same as Best Buy charges for the 2-Disk), AND gives a $5 gift card bonus, AND if you pre-order The Muppets with $5 down, you get $10 off Lady and the Tramp.

And the Best Buy "deal" states that it is to not be combined with any other deal, but others have reported it has worked for them. it's definitely a sour deal by comparison, though.

Yes it should work but as Kit stated a lot of BB are being pains about it.

I went to BB this morning and picked up my 2 disc there (wanted the 3 disc but no stores are selling it only 2 disc)

I'll break down the math.

$22.99 - $5.00 = $17.99 (22.99 PM with AMZ)

$17.99 - $5.00 = $12.99 plus tax (additional $5 off for the DVD trade)

Then went to TRU for the 3 Disc version

$22.99 - $10.00 = $12.99 ($22.99 mistake in ad listing it for that price)

$12.99 - $8.00 = $4.99

$4.99 + $5.00 = $9.99 plus tax plus free $5 GC

If your only going for the 2 disc version at TRU you'll end up paying more for it then the 3 disc version.

Well the 2 Disc version only has a $5 off coupon so it would come out to

$22.99 - $10.00 = $12.99

$12.99 - $5.00 = $7.99

$7.99 + $5.00 = $12.99 total plus tax

vs. 3 Disc with $8 off coupon

$24.99 - $10.00 = $14.99

$14.99 - $8.00 = $6.99

$6.99 + $5.00 = $11.99 total plus tax

Thanks for the TRU heads up. My wife wants this, and the muppets, so this works out perfectly. Going to go tomorrow.

I got mine at Target. Target has the 2 disc bluray for $22.99 and you get $8 off when you purchase another disney bluray along with Lady and the Tramp. Also the $8 off DMR coupon works on the 2 disc bluray at Target so this is wat i did. I purchased Lady and the Tramp for $23.99, also picked up Dumbo for $19.99. Got the $8 off for purchasing Dumbo and then applied the $8 off DMR coupon towards Lady and the Tramp. I also had a $3 off DMR coupon for any disney bluray that i received in my email recently so i applied that towards Dumbo and then i used my Target redcard to get an additional 5% off my total purchase. All in all i walked out with both Lady and the Tramp and Dumbo blurays for a total of $25.40 so thats $12.70 a piece!

I hate you :applause:

I stuck with Best Buy. I did the trade $5 + $8 coupon on the 2 disc... $24.99 - $13 = $11.99. Not bad. No override. My employee was cool using it since they didn't carry the other version.

The TRU deal looked better but my closest TRU is a bit of a drive and I also had BB credit I could use.

Extreme YMMV. Best Buy doesn't match online pricing, even stated in PM policy. Even with price matching, typically they will not allow coupons i.e. double dipping. Good for you that you got this to work.

"Does Best Buy match the prices of Internet retailers?

No. Best Buy does not match the prices of Internet-only retailers or the website prices of our local retail competitors' stores. "

The ad online clearly states "3 Disc Combo Pack $24.99." I am pretty sure my printed ad (sunday paper) showed the same thing. Not sure how you pulled that one. Still though $11.99 + $5 GC is a fine deal.

So I got to toysrus and they tell me they are out of the the blu ray "case" copies, but have the "dvd" case copies. So, I am completely confused and they show me a blu ray version......that's in a dvd case? I have never seen this before. How long has this gone on for? The guy said Disney releases some like that because some people want the blu ray in a dvd case.

Anyone know about this trend?

Disney has been doing it for a while now. Pretty much when you purchase one in a dvd case, you are purchasing the dvd and you are getting the bluray version for free and when you are purchasing the bluray version you are getting the dvd version for free. Pretty dumb but watever.

Check back with your local stores in regards to the stock on the 3 disc. My store got replenished today with about 50 more copies, originally had 8 for release.

Thanks neoz for posting the figures means i dont have to do them.
