Old laptop broke, really just want a reliable easy to use laptop that can play most games. Not looking for the most expensive powerful monster I can find, but I would like a decent laptop, that wont kill my wallet. Please post if you have any recommendations. Thanks! :D
Games that I would like to be able to play are:
Diablo 3
League of Legends
Total War Shogun 2
Games along he lines of these.

Not trying to break 1000 but I am open to most prices, I am not looking for the most expensive most amazing laptop, but I want to be able to play the games listed when I want to smoothly

Sorry to jack the thread, but does anyone have any opinions about the Sony Vaio S Series VPCSB11FX/W? Performance-wise, too outdated, etc....? There's an opportunity to pick one up for $620, with an additional battery to extend its life.

I have an ASUS U31SD-AH51 13.3-Inch Thin and light. I bought it to replace my previous Asus that I loved. I am also enjoying this computer. It's not the latest and greatest but still has an Core i5. I got it for $650 from amazon but it is a bit more now. (its $680 at tigerdirect)

The ASUS U36SG-AS51 13.3-Inch is the newer version.

I used it mainly for CAD work but it handles Diablo 3 just fine. Great battery life, solid computer but not super cool looking. I like the ultra portable aspect but I did have to get a USB DVD drive

From personal experience, I can recommend the Lenovo Y series. There's a pretty big sale going on right now, with 15.6" models in the $700-$1000 range. On a Performance/Cost basis, they're a really solid deal. The graphics card in there is mid-range, so you'll be able to play most games on medium to high settings, and any game on low settings.

My brother actually owns a Lenovo XD, but I'm not really sure which one to get, I'll compare the specs, but do you have any specific recommendations?

the middle one for $769 looks great. Plenty of ram, decent hard drive (I find my 500mb drive in my laptop barely cuts it) , 1 gb video card, and other specs match the more expensive versions.

the only difference with the higher end models is an SSD drive which is nice but not necessary.

Yeah. That's the one I would go for if I were going to grab one now.

In a laptop the thing that you have to watch out for is the graphic card as they label them " 1gb video card" and that really means nothing, always look for the video card model and here's a list of the different laptop GPU's with FPS in game.

GPU list in game FPS

if your looking for something decent with a good graphic card you can go with the Sager np9130 has an nvidia GTX 660m, you can check approximate fps in the list i posted, it's customizable also so you can customize it to your needs.

anyway just take the list as a guide to check if the laptop your looking at will give you what you want and good luck.

For anyone that's looking to get the best of the best in laptops i'd recommend the 7970M GPU.
