LaPucelle Tactics used $19.99

I did not purchase it, I just found it. I've seen this title thrown around on many post and wasn't sure if this was a good price. Thanks PenguinMaster for the links. Also what is the big deal about this game. Is it really great or is it becoming a cult game like Rez?

Yep. If Hastings kept up with prices, it'd be $9.99 used.

It's a Nippon Ichi strategy RPG. That means instant awesome.

But disgaea and phantom brave > la pucelle

I never understood the sudden Nippon Ichi craze. Now the market's being flooded by strategy games from them and Atlus. And people just keep gobbling them up because they're not mainstream.

I personally can't stand them because there's not much interaction, just battles then cutscenes, the 2D with the isometric view, the battlefield/island surrounded by blank space. They're not the most people friendly games either - requiring lots of hours and replay is low unless you want to wade through the battles all over again. Which leads me to believe there's a lot of hype and speculation around these games to try and keep prices up...That's my theory.

I agree to a certain extent with your points. I'm not enamored by these games and some of their flaws but I buy them because they ARE different... I'm just glad that companies like Atlus are willing to take risks and release these games here.

For years, the door was slam shut and we've been missing out on some of the quircky and interesting titles from Japan... but if more publishers have success releasing these games here, then more of these titles (whatever genre they might be) will be translated for the US market.

Look at it this way, I'd rather have the option to buy these games then NOT have the option at all. Freedom of choice.

i happen to pick this game up for 19.99 at gamerush. if i didn't have any gamerush credit i think i would have got it at ebgames since its 19.99 new also.
no, no

disgaea>>>>>>>>> la pucelle >>>>>>>>> phantom crap
phantom would been alot better if it didnt have time limits. Where each person disappeared after so many movies.

So far played

Disgaea over 120 hours
La pucelle over 15 hours *just got june 9
Brave 6 hours and i had it since Dec 2004

hated brave

Yeah, but I've yet to see a physical copy since the price drop. Of course, I don't have a Hastings around either.

The nearest Gamestop with a copy for me is in Flint, MI - 60+ miles away, or Lansing, about 70 miles away. And going into Flint makes me nervous. 8-[

Shipping from J&R through Amazon is $6. :( If I could get it new for $20 I would pull the trigger on it.
