Last Comic Standing, What the HELL happened last night!

fireball343

CAGiversary!
I watched last comic standing last night and was amazed that Ant won the challenge but he was good at making stuff up about hollywood.
anyways
Tammy and Todd in a head to head and Tammy won by 10%? she was awful. I rewatched it on Tivo and she got so fewer laughs then Todd. Yet she still wins. Is this another producer scam for "personality" in the house. could they not stand to lose two girls in a row and all the raunchy jokes go away?

post all comments about THIS WEEK. not last week. Heffron kicked Bonnie's butt last week, we don't want to hear about that.
we want comments about how the Hell Todd, who was funniner in my opinion, my families opinoin, and in the audiences laughs during the performance, lose to Tammy, whose jokes weren't as good, as Bonnie's!

*Note* Lets try not to do too much bashing of eachother in supporting our fav comics. let's go more for pointing out why tammy is funnier to some people or why the hell you think Todd could have lost.

I know exactly why Todd lost, and it wasnt because of a scam because frankly it would have been MORE awesome for the show if he'd stayed.

he lost because near the end of his set his energy dropped. It's like he came out of the gate already sprinting but like a smoking runner, ran out of breath in a way. Too much space between his last few jokes and the audiance could feel it, sort of an anticipation of the next gag, like a "c'mon, we're waiting..." type of thing.

Tammy kept a consistancy energy all the way through her set. It wasnt the funniest but the mood she achived was maintainted all the way to the end.

I think that's why it was so close, he really was funnier than her but those gaps at the end hurt him.

he was a ton better, it was just so close.
Him in the house was great, the informercial w/the junk in the kitchen, the attention song.

My wife and I have not been watching the show. However we did watch last night and we both thought that Todd did better on the stage. They were both good but Todd made us both laugh more. Yes you are correct his material was really good at the start and only good to ok at the end. He should have saved more of his good material for the end so he would have ended on big positive.

Also just to be accurate, Tammy won 55% to 45% which is by 10% not 5. I also thought Todd was funnier, even through the end of his performance. I just dont like Tammy's jokes sometimes where Todd can just be funny as hell.

I watched for the first time last night and I thought Tammy was much better. Todd was funny, but there were too many quick one liners...he should have tried at least to connect them.

sorry bout the mistake. tammy has some good material but Todd's was better. even though of the end it was still better.

Yep ,there are only so many sicilian mafia jokes I can handle. While she is funny, she is also very repetitive in her act.

the whole mob thing dies pretty quick, and her voice, the mob voice, or the girl voice, i can't stand either.

Yeah I agree, When you see these guys from the very begining if the show all the way up to the house you kind just start saying "man, would you come up with some OTHER jokes?"

The ones that have somthing new to say every time I see them are the ones that impress me the most. I think if the audiance at home were voting, it would've gone the other way.

Dont know what you all think but, I think Alonzo and John are probably the 2 funniest in the house. I think Jay and Ant need to go ASAP.

with John Heffron and Todd Glass their material is always new mixed with some older stuff. for the show that's great but the repeat material is cheap, but if it got you this far, it could get you futher. taking into consideration that your new to this audience that decides your fate you can use old stuff and they won't know

*Post 50*

John is my pick for funniest, Alonzo is at the top too. Ant will go next week. Jay London was funny in auditions compared to others, but not anymore.

They said in the teaser that "two enemies collide" or somthing like that in the showdown at the end of the next episode so I'm betting it's probably Ant and Cory even though they "kinda" made up by the end...but I think that was just Ant's way of trying toget him to choose somone else for the vote at the end rather than risk facing him when he dosent have the exemption... like next week!

Jay is SO going to get the boot soon, I mean he's likable but his routine's rely on akward silences and they probably wont play well with larger crowds so if he ends up mixing it up with any of the other guy commedians in a showdown he's done.

I really didn't care for Todd's set last night. He had a couple of big laughs, but I agree with those who thought there were too many low points. In the house he was funny as hell and I loved how he was getting on people's nerves, but I thought last night his performance was off.

Edit: I meant Todd instead of John

I thought Todd should have won, but they don't show the whole set and towards the end he was losing steam.

And when you look at repetitive material, look no further than last years winner. Damn you Dat Phan, damn you.

The show has some major flaws.

1.Not showing us the whole bits when it matters.
2. The fact that the audience is new each head to head means old material is usable.

put up a poll. just wondering. based off things i've noticed in other forums mixed with the ones in here.

Todd was awesome annoying the house.

I've been looking at other boards about last comic standing and noticed that the rules have changed for this one. Todd has a cd out and has been on TV before. last year you couldn't have been on tv before but this year it's okay. don't know about the cd though.

but if Todd has a whole cd he has material to move around and use on different performances. but others have one or two performaces worth.

another thing. if Tammy and others like Ant use the same material over and over for new audiences kinda like Dat Phan they could make it to the final five. but they aren't as likeable as Dat was, so they won't win.

its obvious why he lost... because they like to get rid of the actual funny people first, that way towards the end it'll be easier for the to pick the least funny person of all. If you saw the first last comic standing, u would know that they save the worst for last. (dat phan)

IMO, Todd lost because he uses a lot of cheap (toilet humor and cursing) jokes, and you need the right kind of audience for that. It goes over better in a smaller club than a large theater. He's got a lot more personality than Tammy, and I was really sad to see him go.

As far as the rest of them go, Jay annoys me more than Ant. Jay's act is a crossbreed of Gilbert Gottfried and Steven Wright, without the charm of either. Ant's relying less on old common jokes than he was last year, but he still strikes me a unoriginal.

fireball343 The rules have definitely changed, look at the group that didn't qualify for Vegas. Will Durst, who's had an HBO special. Pablo Francisco, who's done Coke ads for the movie theaters.

I would bang Tammy...but I don't bother watching the show since the "controversial" semi-finals where they didn't pick the Seinfeld-esque man from Stamford who was the only comic who actually got me (and the audience by and large) to laugh and he wasn't picked by the "producer"s, yet picked by the comics..what a bunch of douche bags, what a hose job, and just a scam....

all the crap from the semi-finals really bugs me.
the first group had 6 people worth putting in the house and the second group had 4, IMO, point being that having the groups split is dumb. the producers can put them however they want. i agree that people shouldn't be on the show and others should have been.
i got real annoyed watching my favs not go on. but John Heffron, Todd Glass, Alonzo Boden, Corey Houlcum and one other that i haven't decided on should be in the final five, out of who's in the house. Corey is a maybe though.

I thought last comic standing was over and dat fan won. Also what happened to his tv show on comedy central?
