This router is 54Mbps is it capable enough of powering my online gaming enough through a couple of rooms wirelessly to my 360?

I use it and it works great. Don't forget that your XBOX Live connection will be limited by your broadband connection, not your wireless one. This Linksys works at 54Mbps, but if you're internet speed is only 3Mbps than that's what you're going to see in terms of your speed over XBOX Live.

If you are very far away, then you might experience some Lag or Dropped connections. I have that Router with the Upgraded Antenna's and If I use it in my Bedroom directly upstairs from it I get no signal. If I us it in my Living room which is farther away I get a really great signal. Must be an Interferance problem. Great Product though.

WRT54G/WRT54GS conforms to the IEEE 802.11g standards and operates at 54Mbps. In real life situation it runs at about 22Mbps. Depending on the signal strength, distance and interference, it may step down to a lower Mbps but still it should be much faster than your broadband connection which is typical at 3-6Mbps.

In other words, the WRT54G/GS is more than capable of handling your Xbox live connection, even with your family surfing the web at the same time :)

I don't know if there are any developments in the WRT54G front, but the one I got last January was a piece of crap. They changed the firmware, and it was essentially released as a broken product. The WRT54GS model with the speedbooster as of last January still had good default firmware, and it works great for me.

I had a bit of trouble getting mine going at first, took a lot of tweaking, but has worked well ever since. I ended up having to assign static IP addresses for the X360. Very odd that I couldn't get DHCP to work with the 360. But it works now, so no worries ;p

I barely got a 4th edition at Best Buy in December. It was the only one in a stack of 5th editions.
