Logitech Cordless Controller - problem with Jak 2?

sketch226

CAGiversary!
I got one of the Logitech cordless controllers from the Amazon deal. So far it's worked great- I played through Ratchet and Clank GC, Culdcept, and Katamari Damacy with it with zero problems. I started playing Jak 2 last night and noticed that vehicle acceleration (holding the X button) and going backwards (square buttons) require me to mash the hell out of the buttons to get any response and still sometimes it barely gets me anywhere. My first guess was to replace the batteries- didnt help. Then I checked it with other games in case something was messing with the signal and seems to work perfectly fine still. Any ideas about this?

I have two of those Logitech Cordless Action controllers and while they're great, I've noticed that the buttons' pressure sensitivity doesn't work as well as the default Sony controllers. Usually it's not a problem, but when you play games like Gran Turismo 3 or Mad Maestro where pressure sensitivity actually matters a lot, you really notice the difference. If you have Mad Maestro, you can check this yourself by going to the option menu and messing around with the button pressure setting. While it's easy to get the whole range of pressure presses with the Sony controller, the Logitech cordless ones pretty much just give you very soft or very hard. I'm guessing that's the cause of your problem.

As for me, I just use the Sony controller with an extension cord for playing games like GT3 or Mad Maestro where pressure sensitivity matters a lot.

ah, after messing around with it some more I can definitely see it's a pressure sensitivity problem majority of the time, though sometimes it seems like even if I'm holding down the button with a good bit of force, the game acts like Ive released the button. May or may not be directly related.

Thank you for the help.
