Looking for a LAPTOP!!!!!

if you gave us some idea as to what kind of specs you want on the laptop, we maybe able to help you out more :)

Thanks for the help so far...

I'm looking for a price around the 1k mark...

To be more precise this laptop is for my sister who is a college student... she wants a reliable laptop (doesn't break down easily), easy to use (or user friendly), small (to carry around everywhere), and has a fairly large hard drive... not sure how big... just good enough to put plenty of music on it...

I dont know much about computers... but I think she wants to buy a wireless router and it has to be compatible with that or something...

thanks again :)
Pick up a 12in Apple iBook for $899.00 at Amazon after $100 MIR if you purchase by 1/26/05. Once you go Mac you'll never go back. Apple iBook
Every school day I "go Mac" and every day I cant wait to get home and "go back".

^^ Hhahaha

You should check CompUSA, Mine has a ton of laptops on clearence (decent ones) for under $600 because of managers specials, promotions, holiday returns and such...

Same here.

I love not being able to right click, that's probably my favorite feature of the macs. I can't stand Macs and even though I have an Ipod their design is more flawed then PS2's. I've had to have mine repaired at least 3 or 4 times in addition to the awful batteries they put in the thing. For God's sake get a PC.

#1 Right clicking Problem, get a 2 button mouse, Control+click also doubles as a "Right Click" Effect

#2 I take it you have an old iPod considering the newer ones are much more durable and have better batteries, most high tech electronics go through a shitty stage, for what the iPod is, that shitty stage was not nearly as bad as it could have been.

#3 This isn't a bash the Mac thread, for what the OP was looking for, a Mac would actually fit in nicely.

for the OP: I would suggest that mac, either that or a toshiba (Based upon Quality/Durability/Price), after all when It comes to durability/reliability my order is: Panasonic > IBM > Sony = Toshiba > Mac > Acer > Hp/crapaq > Steaming pile of shit > Gateway = Dell
