looking for a new video switcher

Since my boyfriend decided to surprise me with a 360 for Christmas (in the most annoying way he could come up with), I need to get a new video switchbox for my TV.

The back has 2 open ports on the back, one standard A/V port (with the red-white-yellow plugs) and one HD component port (with 6 plugs.) At least I think it's HD, I'm really not as up on these things as I should be.

Anyway- I'm looking for a 4-way switcher at minimum (planning ahead for PS3 and Wii), where each port has its own access button- I don't want to cycle through to get what I want. It'd be nice to get one that works with the HD port, but not nessecary- after all, I still have to plug in the GC, and I really don't know if I want to spend the money on the component cables right now. Twenty dollar range is best, absolutely no more than $50, and if it's sold at Wal-mart, that's a definite plus (I have a gift card.)

Anything you guys can reccomend?

ebay

if youre looking to upgrade your tv later, i would buy the cheapest one possible. the lcd tvs these days comes with multiple inputs for component and hdmi. component cables are cheap on ebay. i would invest on that instead of the regular rca because sooner or later you wont have any use for them

Thanks for the tips!

I ended up with the Gamestop HD system selector- I do have a TV upgrade in mind, but probably not in the near future, so it'll do good in that I can use the RCA hookups now and switch to component later- at least for a lil' while as I look for a better switcher. And at 20 bucks, it's the cheapesr 4-way swticher I've found. (Although, only 3 of those support component. Ah well.)

I have that GS System selector .. I hate it. It works great, but it's so ugly and we've had it for years now.

Does your TV have HDMI ports? If so, hook your 360 up with that. (And a PS3 if you get one, also)

What's sad is it's better looking than the selectors I found elsewhere (at least the cheaper ones.)

And, um... honestly, I don't know what an HDMI port is. My TV has 4 hookups on the back- one big fat coaxial for the cable-cable, 2 red-yellow-white RCAs, and 1 red-yellow-white-red-blue-green component.

When the time comes for a new TV, I'll be sure to ask about HDMI. :D

This is what it looks like :)

I think they'll stop making TVs without HDMI in a few months...

You can try this, it's a bit above your ideal price (especially after shipping) but considering current gen systems can be started via the controllers, it will be nice to have a remote to switch between inputs. It only supports component though, no composite... not sure if that's a problem.

I bought a $4 Intec switcher from the local game shop. It was on the front case with the two Beatmania bundles I sold them a while back for $25 and $30. I couldn't say no, since I didn't want to keep switching my PS3 and Xbox back and forth and burn out the back ports on my tv like I did the front ones.
