I am currently in the market to purchase some new wheels and tires for my car and was just wondering if anyone knew of a good cheap site to look up.

The best prices I found were through ebay store sellers but if anyone knows of other cheap places, please let me know, thanks.

ebay stores are not even close to cheap

$800 shipped is by far the cheapest I have found 18" wheels and tire packages. The second cheapest place I have seen is around $1300 shipped.

What are some cheap places then if ebay is high?

Make sure the offset and rim width is something you want. A lot of times you will find 7 inch wide rims and or tires that are too small for you vehicle..

make sure you get something that doesnt shout RICE for goodness sakes.

Alright, thanks for all the help guys. I will look more into those sites when I get home from school and work later today. BTW I would never get something to make my car look ricerish. Just don't want to get smaller wheels and tires than I already have on my car which are 18's with an 8 inch width.

Please do not buy wheels and tires because they are cheap.

Inexpensive and cheap are different.

I would hate to see you harm yourself because of poor tires that 75% of cars today come with from the factory. Do yourself a favor and keep your stock wheels, spend all of that money on better tires. Tires are the most important part of a car, it is the wheel that makes the idea of a car possible at all.

For the rest of you, you may not know it but almost all of those links are Tire Rack resellers. A majority of rim/tire shops in the whole country are also Tire Rack resellers, and they use TR as a supplier.

And don't buy wheels just because they are flashy or a larger diameter, you will only look like a fool to any educated and informed person. Find the ideal size for your specific car that maximizes the tires efficiency.

I would be glad you are not some ricer with 22's on a Civic. Most owners forums get the best deals from their specific ethusiast dealers.

What kind of car do you have? I can point you in the correct direction.

I'll throw in my kudos for Discount Tire as well... they are very courteous and quick here in Cary. (Harrison)

They even took $15 off of a replacement rim for my wife's Toyota since I give them so much business.

EDIT: I forgot to add that they will supposedly price match as well...

[quote name='Snake2715']I think he said its a Tata motors:

Lmfao, but its actually an 2004 Mazda Rx8.

The car is gray, so does anyone have any input on which kind of tires and rims would look good on my car. Btw I need these tires for year round so 4 season tires would be the more ideal tire I would want.

So I found this site....and these rims and tires look to be pretty nice and almost around my price range. Only problem is the fact that I do not know which tires these come with.....anyone ever deal with this company and know which tires you get the rims mounted with?https://wheelsnext.com/default.cfm?action=dspWheel&Model=HPR-5&color=BLACK%20(GLOSS%20FINISH)

You'll probably get some mediocre low profile tires that look good but are crap. You might go with a smaller rim and get some decent all weather tires. If you are going to use these rims in the winter, be prepared to clean them all the time or they'll get destroyed.

Already thinking ahead. I am just going to use my stock rims through the winter. And I found out the tires are nothing great but just mediocre tires....any idea which one I should choose through these though? Hankook, Nexen or nankang. There might be other choices but I know those for a fact are 3 of the tires I can choose.

Does anyone know which tire brand of Hankook, Nexen and nankang would be the best, because I heard that Nexen is a pretty solid tire.

Just want to make sure those are my best choice.

Thanks for that link, didnt really see anything that I liked plus with shipping it doesnt beat wheelsnext.com.......

So if I can't find a better deal than there, I think I am going to go with them unless I can get discount tire to price match that website, which i highly doubt they will but doesnt hurt to try I guess.

I almost bought wheels and tires from wheelsnext a couple of years ago, but decided not to. They added on a $25 per wheel/tire "packaging fee", or some crap like that, that was mentioned nowhere on their website until you went to order... then suddenly the wheels and tires were $100 more than what you were expecting. Advertising free shipping and free mounting and balancing, then adding on $100 in bogus fees to your order is bullshit. Even if they have stopped doing this I will never consider buying from them.

BF Goodrick KDW's or Bridgestone Potenza Pole Positions would be your best bet if you wanted to spend that money.

Your car might have a Tire Pressure Monitoring system like many RX-8's came with.

If it does, buying incompatible wheels will disable it. At tirerack.com all of the wheels that they list for the RX-8 will fit these tire pressure monitoring sensors. Keep this in mind, most wheels will NOT fit the sensors unless they are made for it. Some wheels will also come with replacement sensors, and the company will try to con you into buying them under the blanket statement that the sensor will work with your car. A majority of third party sensors will NOT be recognized by the Mazda programming.

Please read here;http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=51865

You can also register and take part in group buys of some great things.

Check the for sale ads for some nice used wheels.

I would not recommend new wheels even if you were not on a budget.

PS, do not be afraid to buy 17" wheels, they are actually going to make the rx8 a nicer daily driver. You do not have to stick with 18".

Thanks man for that info, I am already a member of RX8 club and have been looking at the tpms but I found out while reading through some of the threads that you don't need to hook up the tpms and that a light will be on on my dash but they just cover it up with a piece of tape which would be fine with me.

But Discount tire said they would transfer my tpms for me for a small fee, which I might consider if the amount isnt that much.

And I have been checking craigslist and the local paper but nothing coming close to either in price or the size I want. Btw I would look at getting 17's but since I am not going to be lowering my car for awhile I would like to keep my tires nice and fat to take away the fact of the nice gap in the front haha.

But thanks for all those suggestions man :D
