Looking for deal on ds/ suggestion for ds.

CAGiversary!
As the title says I'm looking for a deal for the Nintendo DS, any help would be appreciated.

Also I noticed that there are 3 different Nintendo DS's and wanted to see if people had any suggestions on which one I should grab.

Thanks in advance!

Are you going to being playing gameboy advance games? If not go with the dsi or dsi xl system. The dsi and dsi xl are the same except the dsi xl has huge screens on it. The dsi screens are slightly bigger then the ds lite. Both the dsi and dsi xl have a download shop (but there's only a handful of good games on it).

I personally would go with a dsi or dsi xl system. I recently upgraded my system to a dsi and wish I would have gone with a dsi xl instead. And you can always pick up a gameboy advance sp/micro for dirt cheap off ebay or at pawn shops.

Walmart has the best deal on systems right now. Dsi system with 1 game of your choice for $169. Dsi system with 2 games of your choice for $189. Dsi xl system with 1 game of your choice for $189.

It really comes down to either a DS Lite or DSi XL. It is true that the DS Lite will play GBA games and the DSi XL will not. However, it is also true that the DSi XL will play games specifically designed for the DSi and the DS Lite will not. So you have to choose: either you will be able to play GBA games OR DSi specific games.

It really is a tough decision because there are a lot of good GBA games, and I don't really have a lot of faith in the future of games specifically designed for the DSi. But on the other hand, you might get the DS Lite and then a few months later someone releases a really awesome DSi specific game. Either way you will miss out on something.

I personally would go for the DSi XL because it would be really nice to have a bigger screen and to prevent missing out on possible upcoming games. And, like hotstud19us said, you can always get a Gameboy Micro and knock out all of the GBA games you missed. Then you could sell it and make back most of your money.

Thanks a lot for the quick replies, that walmart deal looks tempting, but I just heard about the 3DS and was hoping some more deals or price drops might come by when thats officially announced.

Thanks again for the great replies!
I've never heard of games designed just for the dsi except on the nintendo download shop. Can you show some of those games "The Stuff"?
I don't think there are any right now. Mostly I was just saying that it is possible that games will come out in the future that might incorporate the camera into the gameplay, and if you get a DS Lite then you would have no way to play those games. But if you get the DSi then you can still play GBA games on older handlelds (and therefore not miss out on any games). But wouldn't the games on the Nintendo Download Shop, like DSiware, count as games designed just for the DSi? If nothing else this is a display of the potential, and IMO inevitability of DSi-specific games.

DSiware (I know it's Japan only)

I've seen a couple: System Flaw & Foto Showdown. I don't know anything about either game, but they are both only for DSi.
