Looking for good deals on Pc speakers

I wanna get some pc speakers for good quality sound for music and most of all gaming, but I don't know much about audio and so forth. Is 7.1 really neccessary?

I have those as well, but have not hooked them up because I still need to purchase a sound card.

Fat wallet has a whole thread about those speakers and deals on them (they were/ maybe are 40 dollars at buy.com with free shipping)

Yeah those speakers are quite good for the price. They dont do midrange sounds to well. But if its for a comp you dont really need to worry about that.

If your budget is small these are awsome.
