Howdy. I'm experiencing a situation with my internet connectivity. My internet has been going out what seems to be every minute now. I can get to the websites I need to go to but most times, I lose connection while going to a site and get a huge delay and get these screens. :bomb:

To write this, I'm connected directly to the modem via Ethernet cable to find out if it was the router. It definitely appears to be as my laptop is now working flawless with barely any delay. I now feel like I'm getting the internet I'm paying for but it shouldn't only be while connected to the modem.

So I'm using a Netgear Wireless G Router WGR614v10 and it's a few years old at this point. I've tried resetting both modem and router but the Wi-Fi is still garbage after resets. I looked around for other available networks in my apartment complex and it appears I'm the only one with a G router as everybody has N-routers. Here's the biggest question I have: Could my router be sort of overpowered (for lack of a better term) by these N routers around me? It worked fine over the years all the way until a few days ago and it's frustrating because it delays everything big time now.

Before I headed out to buy a new router (N obviously), I thought I'd look for help. I had no luck on my initial search on the web. I haven't checked a whole lot around the internet but I thought I'd check to see if any CAGs had solutions because I've learned from experience that there are a bunch of SAGs (smart a** gamers) on this site, especially when it comes to computers.

Generally speaking the wireless on routers will last about as long as a modern computer, 4-5 years, before starting to act weird. Dropped connections, limited amount of devices connected, etc. It's just time to replace it.
