so i've called gamestop and frys and all of them tell me the same thing ..... the multitap costs 34.99 and it only works on the ps2..... i'm trying to look for one that will work on my old playstation 1, and my cousins playstation 2( which is the old one , not the slim model)....... is there one that's compatible for both the ps1 and ps2 that i can get somewhere , or online?

alright awesome find man, thanks......hm...i was hoping they'd have a multitap that's compatible with both

but the deal and links that you gavve to me comes out cheaper than buying one surprisingly.oh i don't care if they're used, as long as they work, then it's all good

thanks..

When you go to check out on the scrren where it shows your cart theres an area marked "Enter coupon code" , just put each of the codes in and activate them. When selecting shipping choose EB saver shipping which should be 0 dollars.

man, that link that you gave me regarding the compatibility, they're confusing regarding the multitaps at the middle of the page, , which ones the ps2 70000 seriess? is that the slim model?

there's a mulittap for that that would be good to work for what i'm looking for......even though i already bought the two that you told me

I think the ps2 multip tap you bought should work for both psone and ps2. The multitap thats compatible with PStwo (the small version) has slightly smaller spacing between the memory card and controler imputs which makes it oncompatible with the original PS2

hm...do playstation 1 controllers work on the ps2 multitap? if not, can someone link me to a thread that had someone talk about some ps2 controller deal? i remember a long while back there was a ps2 controller at frys for 9.99 that's free after rebate, but i forgot the model name.

OKAY UPDATE!!!

i got the package and tested both multitaps yesterday.....the ps1 multitap works fine, but for some reason, i can't get the ps2 multitap to get shoved into the input slot of either the 1st or 2nd player side.....i checked the pins and the memory card and stuff and it looks right.....but for some reason, it's like the keyshape of the plastic molding is slightly different or something and it wont fit in......

are you sure that's the right one th :?: at i was supposed to get???

Sony's official multi-tap for the slim-line PS2 (SCPH-70120) has not been released yet. Do you have a slim-line PS2? Because if you do, the current PS2 multi-tap is not compatible with it.

Not true. Been on store shelves since at least the first week of Dec.

As far as multitaps go, it's like this:

PSX/PSOne multitaps are needed for playing PSX/PSOne games on PSX/PSOne and PS2 systems. Just like how PSX/PSOne memory cards are needed for saving PSX/PSOne games on the PS2. In the same vein, PS2 multitaps are needed for playing PS2 games.

Hmm..I didn't realize that. *hangs head in shame*

Wow that really sucks I figured the chance of you getting one of the new multitaps was slim/none. Whats the model# on the bottom of the multitap?
