Ok, those of you with time on your hands. Check out my collection list. I know it isn't much compared to many here but I'm trying. Of course I have a fair number of common games - not saying everything on there is rare or hard to find as it isn't. But one of my collecting goals is to find PS2/Gamecube games that are uncommon, rare, or simply in high demand and hard to find. I think I have a good start.

What do you see that isn't on my collection list but should be? I've used as my collecting guides the various threads on this board about what is rare/uncommon and such not - often shot down by some collectors but wth I say. Most online "rare" identifiers don't cover current systems well.

Those that I know of allready that are not on my collection list will be found on my wanted list. As you can see there isn't alot there so I'm just looking to expand my list (though Lord knows I've been buying too many games as it is).

As for gaming/collection directions. I like shooters and war games. My wife is an RPG'r and action gamer. My oldest son likes shooters, rpgs, war games, action games, driving games, you name it. My youngest is pretty much too young for anything but GBA so those games are his.

Thanks,
TexTuna

You do have a good start, especially on PS2. Most of the usual suspects are there. I went through a lengthy phase with rare games myself, so I feel that I am in a unique position to respond. I've come to realize that quality is more important than rarity, though, so my suggestions will slant away from the curiosities and more towards games that are rare because they are in high demand. With that in mind, I would suggest Star Wars Jedi Knights II: Jedi Outcast (GCN), Lost in Blue (DS), Shadow Hearts 1 (PS2), and Wild Arms: Alter Code F (PS2).

Thanks for the tip. Yeah some of my rare/uncommon games I know to be crap - will probably trade them in the future.

I allready have Star Wars Jedi Outcast GCN but will check into the others. I've yet to get any of the Wild Arms games but from what I read Alter Code is the best of that lot.

My wife I believe finished SH1 when it came out and we subsequently sold it. I'll probably pick it up again after I buy the new one coming out to have a complete PS2 Set.

Alter Code F is the only rare-ish one; Agetec didn't expect it to sell since WA3 has hit the bargain bins, and everyone was looking forward to WA4 anyway. It sold better than they expected, but you can still get it for $40 at EB Games for now. It's a remake/update of the original game, which most consider to still be the best in the series.

Also, it seems like Goblin Commander for GCN is rare. Ebay prices are a lot higher than I expected considering I see the PS2 game for $2.96 at every Circuit City.

These are a few uncommon games that come to mind that I don't see on your list:

PS2:
Baldur's Gate II
Grandia Xtreme
Monster Rancher 4
Suikoden III

GC:
DDR Mario Mix
Goblin Commander
Phantasy Star Online: Episodes I & II (Plus)
Wario World (kinda - eBay prices range from $5-20)

Otherwise, a very nice collection!

I was wondering what the hell was up with that GCN Goblin Commander price. I noticed one at a GS tonite - seems like it was like $30 and couldn't figure what the hell that was all about since as you said I paid less than $3 for my PS2 copy. I may add that to the list but after seeing the PS2 one I think its more worth the $3 than $30 ! :)

Thanks for the input. Some of those are allready on my want list but some aren't so it gives me a little more to look for. Gonna have to wait till the next b2g1f deal though before I can swallow paying $30 for GCN Goblin Commander! :)

Also, which is the most desirable Capcom vs SNK 2 game, the PS2 version or the EO GCN version? I figured it likely the PS2 version since that sells for $5 more at GS but often it is the GCN versions that are more desirable as there are fewer made.

I seem to remember there is a "feature" that can be taken advantage of in the PS2 version but am not familiar enough with the game to know if that makes it more desirable than the GCN.

I'm not big into fighters but my son loves them, especially old school 2D types.
