looking for romero's dead series cheap
Make sure that you get the 3 disc version of Dawn of the Dead. It's worth it!
I really want to get this, but I can't rationalize spending $30 on it, at least not from what I have heard about this edition. Are there any really compelling features, that would make me get it?

Also, it would be nice to find a good price on it!

YOu know i was in your same place deciding if i should get it or not. And most the features that are extra seem to not be to special. It looked mostly that it was redone in differnt languages and some other features i would not utilize. I just got the SE one... Simple enough...

DDD (Deep discount dvd) should be having another 20% sale sometime later this year if you wanted to get probably the best deal you'd find on the UE of Dawn .
You might try Columbia House for the rest not sure if they still carry all of them, they also have the NOTLD remake.
Either way you should be aware that the current in print Day of The Dead that Anchor Bay released has an edited soundtrack, (but superior extras) to the original Anchor Bay release which is probably cheaply had on half/ebay or a trading board.
Happy Zombie Hunting

The 4-disc Ultimate Edition is $23 used at wherehouse.com. Use code VISACOOL to get $3 off (which will basically give you free shipping). I got mine from there and it was in great condition. They only accept the best products. It's three versions of the movies and loads of features.

I got the NotLD one with the kind of orange background with the girl on the front and it has some cool features, including the living bread parody. Movie was in good quality too.

Anyone know where the 1990 remake of NotLD can be found for cheap?

do you mean soundtrack as in music or dialogue? if its the dialogue is it anything major?

The soundtrack that anchor bay used on their reissue of DAY OF THE DEAD is an edited for television soundtrack (not the music, but dialogue and everything else)
so its missing some expletives, and has a little overdubbing on some of the dialogue.

I find it interesting that on Amazon the old 2-disc original issue of Day of the Dead is $9.99 on amazon, and the single disc re-issue is $18.

So to re-interate, for the ultimate Living Dead Experience you want:
Night of the Living Dead: Millenium Edition
Dawn of the Dead: Ultimate Edition (3 cuts, lots of extra)
Day of the Dead: 2-disc Special divimax edition
and it looks like the best price your going to find it on is on Amazon for $9.99

As far as Dawn of the Dead Ultimate Edition, thats the one that's going to hit your pocket books, but if you don't mind buying used I can hook you up with a good source for one. There is a string of regional cd, movie, and video game store in the midwest called CD Tradepost. They run a site called www.cdtradepost.com it is a legit website which you can search the store's inventory for a particular item and for $3.00 shipping you can call up any of the stores and they will promptly mail you your item. Currently there is a Dawn of the Dead:UE in the West Wichita store (West Wichita 556 N. Ridge Rd. - Wichita, KS 316-942-7223 M-Sa: 10a-9p, Su: 12p-6p ) for $19.99. Call them up, inquire about the item's condition, then give them your address, email address, CC#, etc. to place the order. To find the number for any other stores, or to verify the above number, click on "Contact Us."

It also appears that same witchita store has a Night of the Living Dead dvd for $7.99 but does not mention what version it is, you could inquire about that while placing your order (should you chose to) and if it is the NotLD:ME, well you just killed two birds with one stone,

On a related note details of the Land of the Dead DVD are surfacing Looks like a mid-October Release.

Also, since the rights to the films on dvd are spread over several studios, don't expect any bundles come October 18th, best one can hope for is to have the others on sale. This is fairly likely considering that is close to Halloween, unfortunately it will probably be the single disc editions which will be on sale.

Hope that helps you or anyone else seeking them out :)

edit: I second that the changes to the Day of the Dead soundtrack aren't that major, if someone had not told me I wouldn't have noticed the dialogue changes, and it is not through the entire soundtrack, the dubbing sneaks in here and there a few times.
Its a long shot, but check Game Stops. I bought my Ultimate edition there used for $5.99 Near Mint.
Damn, now that's a good deal.

deep discount dvd has the day of the dead 2-disc set for 11.99 as part of their anchor bay sale, considering you get free shipping thats probably the cheapest you'll find it new

I'd say the NotLD on DDD for $5-$6 (whatever it is) is the best bang for the buck. It's got the girl on the cover, with like a brick wall behind her I think.
