I really want to pick it up, but looking at ebay, it looks like it might be hard to do at a cheap ass price. Anybody know where I can get it cheaper? And, how much was the original MSRP? Any help would be appreciated! :D

Good luck...

This thing is OOP.

I bought the set 3 years ago, at my local BX, on clearance, for $12,... but then took it back when my PS2 at the time died on another movie.

Now,.. people want $$$ for this set.
If you find it cheap, let me know too.
Good luck, and thanks.
:)

good luck i have been looking everywhere for this set for about a year now and i only found 1 and the discs were trashed. i found it at gamestop and it was priced 39,99. my friend also found 1 that was mint and complete at gamesto about a month ago for 39.99.

I am a huge fan of Pixar, and am kicking myself for never picking up this set. Now, I am scrambling around trying to get it cheap, but that might be kinda hard to do...

Thanks so far guys.

I have seen it 3 times this last year (I bought one) at my local Specs stores. You may wanna check, Specs, FYE, Coconuts etc

Why buy it at all? With Toy Story 3 coming, this will soon be an incomplete collection!

In further sarcasm, somebody kill me the day before Toy Story 3 hits.

 But damn Disney will be making Toy Story 3, not Pixar. I won't consider it part of the collection!

I've never been to any of those stores, as there aren't any around here...
i love toy story but i hated the 2nd one. did anyone here like the 2nd one ?
Yep. Which is why I am trying to find this! :D

"On disc 3 of the box, the one that contains the supplements, choose 'Toy Story 2.' There, under the 'Story' section, highlight 'Jesse's Song.' On the next screen that appears, press the 'Left' arrow key on your remote control, and a question mark will appear. With the question mark highlighted, hit 'Enter' for a funny outtake with an introduction by directors John Lasseter Ash Brannon."

That out-take alone is worth the price of admition...which according to e-bay is around $100.

My plastic slip case for it finnaly cracked, and i was seeing if anyone was selling a replacement...

I'll keep an eye out locally, because ive got enough dvd shops around me...i just never actually look for the box

I got my Ultimate Toy Box from eBay a while ago.
I bought a copy for my wife when it first came out I think the MSRP might have been $39.99 but I could be wrong.
I think you're thinking of the Toy Story 2-pack (w/o the extra disk). I'm pretty sure the 2-pack was $39.99 and the 3-disc set retailed for $69.99.

I've been in the same boat, Rig. If I ever see a couple laying around, I'll be sure to grab them...

I didn't hear that. They could be, but I am just worried Pixar will get shafted. I don't care for any of Disney's new crap.

Thanks for the tips so far guys. Maybe ebay is my only chance...sigh.

I been looking for this for the past year too. Saw it only a couple of times at used dvd stores in my area. But they were asking for $50 and up. With the boxes looking pretty banged up.

I think it's pretty lame the way Disney always releases stuff for a limited amount of time. Speaking of which I don't have the Toy Story movies on DVD either. :(

For once a company released a collectors edition that was actually collectible. The whole thing with the Disney vault is kind of annoying, but its also very effective marketing.

In some ways it's effective because it creates demand but it seems like Disney could also sell more of their DVDs than they do. All Disney releases are discontinued at a certain time and then become unavailable. Some titles like the Disney Treasures are limited to 150,000 copies each. That's ridiculous. I'm sure there are far more than 150,000 people willing to buy classic Disney cartoons.

The tins are limited 150000, the dvd's themselves have been distributed other ways (costco bundle). Also, when a disney dvd goes into "The Vault", its not pulled from the shelves, its sold through...so there were already millions of copies sold. It also makes a secondary collectible market that fits with everything else they do.

The thing with the Disney Treasure releases is that even including the non-tin releases there aren't many more available than 150,000. The stand alone non-tin Treasures were only made in quantities of 10,000 or 12,000. Ironic that there are far more tin versions. I'm not sure how many of the bundles were released but it was fewer than the tin versions. I know when Disney releases go into the vault they're not pulled from shelves it just means that production is stopped until Disney decides to release a new version of that particular title at a later date.
