Looking to run Guild Wars 2, Starcraft 2 and BF3 on highest settings possible - how would this build hold up?

Windows 7 Home Premium
i7-3930k
16GB quad channel DDR3 (1600MHz) RAM
1GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon™ HD 6870
2TB HDD
128GB SSD

Obviously, my only real concern is the GPU - is it capable of running all of these games on 60+ FPS with settings maxed out? Or should I just stick to medium/high?

Thanks in advance for any advice! :)

Edited: Starcraft TWO, lol

Hehe.

6870 will do fine. Max settings and 50ish FPS here. Only thing I question is so much RAM. Scale that back about 10 gigs IMO. Also, the CPU is holy hell overkill for gaming, but all depends on what productivity work you'll be doing. I'm still on a gen one i7 because the chips kick so much ass.

I'm getting this build for about $1100 - it's prebuilt, friend works for Dell. This is for an Alienware R4. He's offered a discount on damaged packaged goods along with his discount. It's either that setup or building my own for around the same price, but with less specs.

The 6870 isn't good for gaming at 2560 x 1440 so I'm replacing mine.

BattleField 3 is much more GPU intensive than GW 2 so I don't think you'll be getting 60 FPS at 1080P.

I'm running a Core i5 2500, Geforce GTX 670 2gb, and 8gb of ram.
GW2 runs at 60 fps on high everywhere except large WvW battles which give me around 30. Nobody is gonna get 60 there though. ;)

You could save a lot of money by just getting the fastest i5 instead of i7, and scaling back to 8gb of ram. Put that extra money towards a better video card.

Coming from someone who bought 16Gb to run a Virtual machine, you don't need it. I haven't hit 50% usage yet.

However, it wasn't exactly expensive. The difference is only about $45.

You're getting ripped off :D

However, it's a nice PC.

If I had $1100 to burn on a new PC, I would build my own.

this is me, except 570gtx.

i'm going to take a look at my settings again but i have 50-60 no matter what. in WvW as well (though there is some messed up shit there since people don't appear right away though thats their server not my pc). and thats with fraps taking its fps cut too. if my settings aren't maxed they are close. 1680x1050.

k the only thing i have turned off is the depth blur and i'm not using supersampling. depth blur because i think it looks like shit, not performance related and supersampling is ridiculous.

so the point of this is that a 570 can run it np. something better or around the same will do just fine at least at my res.
