LOOM... best version?

CAGiversary!
Wasn't there a console version of Loom that supposedly had the VGA and orchestrated sound? I fired up my old copy... WOW i can't believe I actually took that good care of the materials that I could play a 12 year old game. Usually there are mad problems but DosBox is pretty awesome software :D

Then I realized it was all done EGA and midi sound (at least not PC speaker)..

Does anyone know of any patch or upgrade you can make to LOOM PC EGA version? Would it be immoral to download the VGA version being that I OWN and paid for loom? I just don't think I want to buy a whole console and a (who knows, $80 copy?) of Loom!

WTF Lucasarts.. get some complilations of the BEST versions available, please. EbAY is horrible to buy these things.. they cost so much.. the publisher never sees a cent. It's almost extortive, the prices.

I have the VGA Version. The music is all orchestrative. In fact, it's all a long audio track on the disc. There's also voice work for the game on there. However, listening to the CD spin up every time I get to a different area, or talk to someone is annoying, so I have to make a CD image of it.

If you download it, you miss all hte music and voices.

The PC one was missing either the graphics or sound of the TG 16 CD version, I think (?)...

I'm just trying to find the "best" version... my optimal path (meaning I don't want to buy a TG 16 CD just for this) would be to download the audio/vga somewhere. The EGA just isn't doing it for me like it did when I was 15. I 've seen the VGA screenshots and they are awesome.

The other thing that dissuades me from going the distance for LOOM is that it is mercilessly short. I think you can beat it in an hour.. I want to say maybe less!!

Doubt it. The graphics look the same and all the audio is present.
