Lost mail from Amazon, how to contact?

I've ordered from Amazon for years, and it looks like this is the first lost mail. According to Amazon's tracking, my package delivered yesterday, however, I have not received it.

I'm sure CAGs have run into this problem.

How do I go about solving this problem? Where's the links on Amazon for contact?

Any help would be appreciated. I'm sure there will be others who may have this misfortune.

Thanks! :)

Had the same thing happen. They said to wait a couple days and if it didn't show (they said it could be at a neighbor or the tracking could be incorrect), that I contact them again. The package didn't show up, so I contacted them again using Chat and they sent the item again. Amazon is awesome!

Thanks for the responses.

I googled up Amazon's customer service and went to this link:

I got the same response. When I called them up, they said to wait a few more days. I don't really think the package will randomly show up in a few more days when its status says "delivered."

I'll call them up on the weekend again. We'll see what happens. I'd rather get the package resent than refunded. :)

I've had packages show up several times that said they were delivered but not actually be delivered until the following day.

If the status is delivered it's probably at a neighbor's house. This happens to me sometimes and my neighbors usually leave it for me the next day.

The one time I had a package from Amazon go missing, the tracking info just wouldn't show up at all. The CSR told me it got lost in transit and sent me another one.

They make you wait a few days for one of two reasons:
1) As stated above, carries sometimes scan the item wrong (i.e., scan it as "delivered" instead of "in processing"). This has happened to me before as well.
2) If it was delivered to the wrong address and said recipients aren't assholes, they will often deliver the item to the proper address. This happens quite frequently around here, but my neighborhood is pretty cool.

Just call up the carrier directly instead of having Amazon deal with it.

This happens from time to time for me and I usually just get a hold of the carrier directly and they get it resent to me the very next day.

Having Amazon do it may not be the quickest or most efficient way for shipping mistakes to be quite honest, so you should just look at which carrier it is, and then call them up directly with your tracking info and what not.

The carrier is USPS. Call up USPS and tell them what?

USPS won't do shit about it. Just let Amazon handle it. Sometimes things are delivered to neighbors by mistake or, unfortunately, stolen. The sender is responsible for you getting the goods you paid for.

That your package says delivered but you didn't get it.

They will take your phone number and the tracking number and open investigation and assign you a case number.

With mine it turned out a family took the mail that day with them so I just closed the case as soon as i found out.

You could always just deal with amazon for faster results. Either way you'll get what you paid for in the end, after a long hassle. Good luck.

That's not always true. I've had USPS deliver to the wrong place before and I called them up and they got it corrected and re-delivered just fine. And I was never saying Amazon shouldn't be responsible for making sure you get your package, but was simply stating it may be quicker just contacting the service carrier because in my experience it has always been easier and faster to do so.

That's good then, just in my experience and many others that I've known USPS pretty much never gives a damn if you don't get it and it says "delivered". Whenever I've tried to deal with USPS they pretty much just gave the runaround and it never amounted to anything. You can also document lost-mail online by filling out a form but I don't think that does much good. It's good to hear that you were able to resolve your issue with them, though.

UPS, on the other hand, has been better at assisting in my experience. I've only had one issue in them over my lifespan and it was corrected within a few hours (the driver made a mistake and they were able to quickly resolve it).

Yeah, UPS and OnTrac are great with correcting mistakes like that, but I've had some issues with FedEx in the past. But yeah, I guess it just all depends on location with USPS on whether or not they'll be helpful or not.

I don't know where your at but I've received pretty good service at the PO, even when I would complain about not receiving magazines. It just annoys me when they always ask if I have the correct address. They may not be as efficient when trying to resolve a problem based on there tools but they do try.

One of a few things could have happened, somebody took your package from your door or unsecured mailbox or it was mis-delivered to another address. You can always try asking neighbors in your area or other houses on different streets that match your address.

When ever I get someone's mail with the same number I always personally take it so they know me and appreciate the fact that I did that.

It actually involved mail that I've sent to other people through USPS and then it said "delivered" but they never received it on a few occasions. In every case except for one they never got the package and any attempts to fill out forms, contact the USPS, contact their local post offices, etc. were useless and unhelpful (this was multiple locations around the United States). In one case their neighbor actually received the package but was thankfully honest and they gave it to them a few days later. In the other cases I was SOL and had to pay the people their money back or re-send the packages with signature confirmation.

I've personally never had any issues with lost mail/packages in my area.
Man, sounds like that person's post office is a complete nightmare.
You can see why I had such a negative attitude about it!

When dealing with the postal system I was also told that there are areas (certain parts of AZ, CA, MI, and TX) that have more stolen/lost mail than other parts of the country.
