Lumines sales jump 5900% on Amazon.com
So someone finally bought a copy from Amazon?
It's because you can now downgrade your PSP with just a copy of Lumines, rather than needing a special (and expensive) older copy of GTA.

Pretty funny though, Apossum

hehe, I saw this last night. Pretty funny. I should really try to play Lumines again. I just didn't get what was so special about it when I first got it.

Awesome! Time to snag that copy that's been at my CC since the dawn of time itself.

Hopefully these assholes just using Lumines to play pirated games actually play Lumines at some point. It's a wonderful game.
oddly in logical un-logical Siamese theorey, this proves God exists.
people giving me money for nothing just because = god exists
Those people need to actually play Lumines and not do crap they aren't suppose to do with their PSP.
I'm sorry for playing legal backups of my PSP games and playing my own legally backed up PS1 games. Damn me to hell.
Edit: And I enjoy Lumines 2 more.

I'm not sorry. and I was raised Jewish, so I can't go to Hell.

I wonder how long this will keep up. Hopefully all week....papa needs a brand new pair of the Darkness and Persona 3.
 @ daroga:
Hehehe, it was a science experiment to see how desperate people were. There was only one other copy there when I listed it, now it's buried under slightly-less-utrageously priced copies. I mistyped and had it set for $1250 originally. That would've been even better ;)

Still illegal even if you own the software.

Downgrading isn't about playing pirated games. Its about playing homebrew.

Stop trolling this thread anti-emulation/homebrew posters. Same guys that treated CheapyD like Hitler when he became an affiliate of videogamecentral...
Downgrading isn't about playing pirated games. Its about playing homebrew.
I have no problem with homebrew, but that seems to always be the example invoked to defend PSP piracy. If it was really just to use homebrew, I'd have no problem with it.

Dumping your games, while probably prohibited by most EULA's on the software, would be an example of Fair Use that I believe would hold up in court if it was pressed. Despite what they may think, game companies' user agreements are not law.

no, it's pretty much about playing ripped and pirated games.

Without getting into court cases too much, ELUA have meant with mixed legality as a binding contract in the US in the past. These days though most software is encoded meaning the DMCA backs it up and the only court ruling that's addressed reverse engineering with regards to reverse engineering, Blizzard v. BnetD, ruled in favor of Blizzard and that software license clauses are enforceable. Granted, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals has always ruled in favor of ELUA being binding contracts while the majority of courts ruled against ELUA having any legal standing, but as it stands now, the 8th Circuit is the only court (to my knowledge) to have ruled on any issue with regards to both ELUA and the DMCA. There has yet to be a definitive ruling by the Supreme Court though.

people pirate games, get over it, EULA etc. etc.

anyway, LUMINES! yeah.

how about we discuss the irrational reaction to instantly bid copies of a game you can easily find for $12.99 to $30-40? more so, why do they instantly turn to Ebay, when so many online retailers carry this game for $20 or less?

do they just think "omg, teh rare!" and start competing with each other, even when there are plenty of other low auctions available?

I just did a quick froogle search for the heck of it and the first 4 retailers were all OOS. I don't think it's all that easy to find at $20 now.

uhh...not true at all, actually.

Anyway thats pretty funny lol...I wonder if they made the game so people could downgrade using it to increase sales xD

okay, then I have no idea.

I don't consider mythical places with red devils and torture as my destination after I die on account of not following rules that aren't clearly defined or explained prior to my birth nor attached to any entity which would reveal its self to me to establish its authority, and that the rules may or may not be encouraged by a variety of societal influences which necessitate the need for or reduce the significance of the action, which obfuscates the defined moral line completely.

that good enough?

All the rules ARE attached to you at birth, since you're made by God, the rules are in a book called the Bible, INCLUDING THE OLD ANNND NEW TESTAMENT, which is God's word. All the other jibberish doesn;t really matter cause societal rules are only short term

oh shit, what have i started...take it to the versus forum. I'll, umm, meet you there...maybe. probably not.

You had to complain in that other thread about "teh console warz" and now we've got a religious debate breaking out int he Gen Gaming forum. What have you done??

(there is a little thing called a conscience that everyone has that has the moral rules pretty firmly implated at birth....)

morals aren't created at birth. they're entirely fabricated by society, albeit a damn good one. you're an ape until you learn how to co-exist with others, which happens very quickly. if you don't believe that, that's great. THE END.

seriously, I'm not responding to this thread any more.

edited again so I don't sound like I'm saying morality is a bad thing

I'm done derailing this too. Why hasn't my $125 copy of Lumines sold yet?

to much reselling is going on its making a game thats not rare act rare its gonna take probly 4 months for this effect to wear off and that makes us without the game have a little wait ahead of us.

Im all for deals but do you people have to overdo it so bad?

My listing's a joke, skelah. Anyone actually wanting to sell their copy of Lumines has it for a more reasonable (though still far too high) price. :)

Tabula Rasa esque reasoning. Im not partial to anything, but the whole "your envoirnment plays a large role in your upbringing" thing is 100 percent true, IMO.

Was doing price changes at work (Gamestop) yesterday and noticed that the price of the game used went up 2 dollars. Found that interesting.
